My Catcher aged during his first SPR, and got a -1 AG. Ouch. I took block, but how should I use him in the future? Obviously he's not much of dodger, but it seems to be the right skill for him next.
In addition, my lino got an +AG. What kind of skills should I get him? Obviously without a thrower I'm going to use him as one. I'm thinking of a mobile guard/blocker of him, kind of like a wardancer. On doubles, guard, and normally Leap/Block/Dodge, propably on that order. Or maybe block first If I don't manage to throw doubles.
I've played only 2 games with the team, I started with:
2 Blitzers
1 Catcher
8 Linos
2 RR
9 FF
10 k cash
My blitzer got killed in the first game (ouch), but after a 3-0 victory I got a whopping 100 k cash, so I bought meself an apo and a lino. Second game was against WEs and I beat them 4-3, got 70 k banked (saving for a blitzer).
My team looks like this at the moment:
1 Blitzer (+MA)
1 Catcher (Block, -1 AG)
1 Lino (kick)
1 Lino (+AG)
7 Linos without SPRs
Apo
2 RRs
11 FF
70k cash

I'd have given the Catcher DP for the short period until he becomes a potential assistant coach.

I don't think that 3 AG for a catcher with NOS, Catch and block is that bad. I mean, he's a fine blitzer as it is with 8 MA, 3 ST and Block.

he'll be dead weight on the team with low armor and low agility, i'd keep him until i had 12 players, then retire. + agi is neat, but they have soo many skills they need because of it, block, dodge, leap, strip ball, what a pain in the butt

have fun. he will be a good thrower or catcher too, until you get a real thrower with accurate and safe throw, anyway.

I think you are right. Tackle would be an interesting second skill for him.
Apart from that, I'd strongly consider to take Side Step before Dodge on your players in general.

Its not so much that the player is bad, just that he can be better pretty easily (by buying a replacement catcher).
Assuming its in a normal league where keeping your team lean and mean isn't a huge concern, I'd have kept him until I had four catchers and could afford a replacement. In the meantime, I'd have given him DP and had him remove the strongest threats to my other players where possible.

Use him as a blitzer, so block, tackle an so on.
Shadowing and Diving Tackle could be also interesting.
Or Dirty Player.

The +1 AG lino I would give pass block, followed by catch. If you have 2 of those you can cover almost the entire field by 2 potential interceptors.
The catcher I would develop either the blitzer way, ie. tackle and so on, or sack him and get a new one...

Keep the catcher. 8 mv, average strength and block makes him useful. Either use him as a safety or send him downfield to harrass the opp ball carrier. replace him when you get the cash but untill then you can just throw him recklessly at whatever looks the most dangerous. If he is still alive and you havent fired him when gets a new skill i would select a defensive skill for him. Pass block, shadowing, tackle something like that. Losing a point of ag sucks but without it players can still be very effective.

For the catcher: Keep him for the moment. With MA8 and ST3 he's a good blitzer. So Tackle or Dodge would be good choices. Although Shadowing would be great and far more funny !
For the AG5 Lino, I would take Pass Block. A 4+ interception is not bad at all ! Alternatively, Leap is a good choice too, especially if you consider the low MA of the Linos.
