Most useful basic skills are Block, Dodge, Guard. But for the next level depends on the way your building your team. I like at least one kicker as this really helps on kick off to eliminate opponent advantage and can be very targeted.
Other skills I have had fun with are Hail Mary pass....nothing like sending ball from one end of field to the next with no intereception.
Obviously Mighty Blow for the bashy's and tackle.

I have a werewolf with Might Blow and Block and as a third skill I'm going to give him Tackle seeing as my next two games will be against Lizzies en amazones. Lets just hope he can put his tackle to good use!

Diving Catch first of all. Then shadowing or sprint or piling on. Then kick. everyone needs kick. What if one gets injured?
Roberto - you need to be a lot more precise in the question. What sort of rising star? A mummy wants and need very different skills to a Gutter Runner. Are you asking about general skill choices?

Roberto, you've been asked politely to stop making "spam" posts.
Obvoiusly, a post like "What skill do you recommend for a x y" where the x is the race and y is position, then that's not to bad, although that info is given in the sticky threads
here, but this question is useless, as any recommended skill depends on the race, position and make up of the team.
