as were in pre-season for league play coming up in August/septemeber.

So AFTER testing a bunch of teams, CD's and a few otehrs, the team I had the most fun with was, well, halflings, so thats the team I'm sticking with.

Made a few mistakes, but the team got a bit stronger in LR4. The new rooted is much better, and the new halfling chef is amazing if done right. The nurgle rotter's team had no rerolls in the first half, and only one in the second half.

As for mistakes, the most notably being blocking with a rooted treeman on a rotter, only getting a push and cant follow up, freeing him to blitz the ball carrying halfling almost at the end zone. Worked out ok in the end, the halfling got away, scored and prior the halfling hit squad killed the rotter outright.....(funniest thing I've seen in a while).

Treeman are TOUGH. They only knocked them down twice, and couldnt yet crack the armor. And they had to really work at getting dice to do it. Beast of nurgle plus 2-3 other guys to get 2 dice.

My team looked like(roughly)

2 treeman
14 halflings
3 rerolls
9 fan factor

60k on ingredients

30k left over.

Rotters looked like:

Beast of Nurgle
3-4 rotters
rest beastmen
2 rerolls
1 FF

Fought them to a 1-1 draw.....

just wait til you play a team with block or tackle....flings will start disappearing quickly.

I agree with Ken. Tackle and, God Forbid, Mighty Blow are the halfling's nightmare. However, if you've been lucky on your skill rolls, you'll have some block and some ag4 flings.

Flings are fun as hell, but they die like crazy. Oh, and never ever use your apoth on a fling that has less than 3 skill increases. If you do, the ghost of your Treeman will haunt you forever.

Yeah figured that out. While I didnt buy an apothacay now, as its just pre-season warm ups, I'll definately be buying one when the seasons starts.

Didnt get a chance to throw a 'fling with the ball, as a double 1's on the handoff reciever put payed on that.....
