Hob sacked - your vote
Ok you can decide the fate of my Hobgoblin. Much heated comedy tonight as I was convinced that sacking my hob was a good idea... most players thought i was mad.
So 190TR Chaos Dward team, St+1 hobo and Block skill; got hit but took another stat loss. ( 6 4 2 7) Hes only ag2 and now -1av too but could have apothed.... am I right to sack him or wrong, reasons please

Difficult to answer without knowing the STR of the rest of the team and how he fits in. If you have 16 players all in prime shape and lots of bonuses - you won't miss him. However if he's one of your few stars - you may be mad and a bit premature at sacking him!

He's not really a line fodder option. If he's a Hobgob with -1AV, he's down to AV6. If he gets smacked, chances are high his armour will be broken. You'll be down one player on the field, which will weaken your position.
In my opinion, line fodder can consist out of two types of players:
- high AV types of players, which can take a beating (Chaos Dwarfs, ...)
- least expensive type of players, because you don't have any high AV players (= Skaven Linerats, Wood Elfs Linemen, ...)
Your Hobgob does not fit into either category. If you keep him, definetely not as line fodder.
Still, ST4 always comes in handy on a bashy team. Get him Block and he will be OK, I guess.

I wouldnt use it as linefodder though. I'd use it as the last defender. If anyone tried a sneaky run then he'll be able to swat them. AV6 means he isnt too well suited for the LOS, but being ST4 means that he can if he wants.
I think with him as your last line of defense you can put more emphasis on turning the ball over with your Bull Bentaurs.

Two Hobs are enough to cover the Ball, especially as Bull Centaurs are not out of the question for ball handling. I tend not to use them for this on offence but i've run away with them a few times on defence.
IIRC he's got Block too hasn't he?

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

Defietly keep him. Wouln't stick him on the line though (besides, which CD wants to give up his place on the LOS to a smelly hobgob?
).

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.
