Treeman with woodelves..

I played only 4 league matches and still a noob in bloodbowl..
I learned alot her reading the board. thanks for that.. :)

Now I have gained this after 4 matches..

1 Wardancer
2 throwers
4 catchers
4 Linemen

1 re-roll
2 ff
1 apo

I wanna add a tree to it to set on the first row.. I hope it keep my linemen a bit more in play..

But does it help? When a treeman takes root he don't lose his Tackle zone. So it is still ok a TD is never far away with woodelves..
But when he is down but some reason he has to roll for root right? when he takes root then He still can stand up eh?
Otherwise I don't see the good use of such a guy in the team..
I think I don't understand it all right..

grtz,

A treeman has the primary function to soak up damage. Lots of coaches have an irrational need to try to get the tree off the pitch and throw 4 guys against him each turn. Other people decide , in case you set the other 2 LoS players in direct contact with the tree, not to make any LoS blocks at all. He is priceless in both scenarios.

On the take root/standup questions: The tree is uprooted whenever it is knocked over. You only roll for take root next when the standup roll is passed successfully. The standup roll is needed because the tree does not have the 3 points of MA you need to stand up when prone.

On the team: I would prefer a second reroll before any more players. How much cash do you have in the bank at the moment?

Hmm yes maybe a reroll first.. Got 80.000 on bank for the moment..
Unless I roll doubble on the playerskill table to have the leader reroll..

And then the tree prolly..

Remember re-rolls cost double after initial startup

Leader on woodies?? I would not do that. For linos I would go Guard, for wardancers jump up or Mighty Blow, for catchers nerves of steel or dauntless.

Leader is a waste of a double, unless you play halflings a lot :)

Go for the 2nd wardancer first.
He is much more important than the tree.

The rules question:

A treeman does not loose his tacklezone while rooted.
Yes you do need to roll for take root when trying to get up.
But you may still stand up (on 4+) while rooted, you may just not move out of your square.
