Orc Blitzer, rolled double

So played and won my first ever league match last nite, 2-0 win against Dwarf, which was nice!

Not only that, but my thrower got a new skill, and my blitzer rolled a double. Absolute bliss, and then the choice has to be made...

Basically, think i'm gonna take accurate on the thrower, as i figure this will help him earn further SPP's.

The blitzer tho', i'm not sure. Was thinking mighty blow, coz that that should help earn some CAS, but then realized any blitzer could take that on a normal skill roll.

So then I think, Catch? Leader? NOS?

I want to avoid Dodge really, coz I wanna use more varied skills, but the odds of a blitzer getting this chance again are slim, i guess.

So would it be wisest to take Dodge, help keep him on his feet?

Any help would be great, thanx all.

Craig.

It depends:

Stand Firm, then Guard - to build him up as a support player

Dodge, then sure hands - to build him up as your runner

Diving Tackle, then Tackle - to build him up as a defense sweeper

Other interesting choices are sure feet, which will improve his mobility greatly.

I wouldn't take Leader or Catch, both are wasted on an Orc Blitzer

Frenzy might be nice too!

Stand Firm. Its probably the best skill in the game. Not only can you never be pushed back unless you want to be, but you can just try dodges for fun.

Give him Guard next. On a double dodge.

He will rock.

I'd have to say frenzy, i had hours of fun with a Chaos warrior who rolled two doubles and had block, frenzy and claw - i should just play as a necro team and get a werewolf

I'd go with Stand Firm on the Blitzer.

Try to get Block / Frenzy on a BoB. Only problem is that MV is pretty low so it is hard to push other players off the pitch and not end-up standing on the sidelines, in a position to get pushed-out yourself. But having an ST4+ Block/Frenzy player is amazing.

I'd say Dodge is the most efficient skill, with Frenzy as a close 2nd. Next time I get a double on an orc blitzer I'll go with Leap though, just because of all those annoying possibilities... :D With AV9, he'll survive a lot of failed wild plays!

stand firm and dodge are really the only 2 top choices, imo. as others have said, it depends on where you want to take him after this.

now that frenzy is only 1 extra block, i don't really think it's worth a doubles roll anymore, particularly on a guy who is still st3. maybe on a black orc who rolls doubles...

Stand firm, sure hands, then dodge, AG+, NOS, sure feet, leap.
That's what I would do.

Kinda depends on the league you play in. At lowish TR a blodging Orc is a HUGE asset, but later on the number of tacklers around will pretty much negate this advantage. My vote would go to stand firm if you plan to play the team for 10+ games.

I'd pretty much take Dodge. Standfirm could be useful. But I'd also think Dauntless depending on what the rest of your league looks like. If your go some undead or Khermi or people using big guys I'd say Dauntless.

It always depend of the league you play with and the kind of play you like. On the other hand, Dodge or Stand Firm will always reveal to be good for this player! I'd suggest to take one of 'em ... if you roll another double (for this player or another) then you'll just be as fancy as you want.

SF no doubt, although I do love frenzy. I'd rather give frenzy to a BOB (rookie or with block if with guard then SF) than a blitzer.

No one has mentioned Dauntless as a possibility, though Orcs are obviously better at dealing with big guys than most races.

Exactly, they don't really need that skill or at least, there are other skills that would be more useful. With four black orcs, a troll and a lot of armor, big guys are less of a problem than it would for other teams.
