My team:
8 Lineman (1xBlock, 1xkick)
2 Storm Vermin
1 Thrower
3 Gutter Runners
10 FF 3RR Apoth
I will be playing the following teams in this order:
Orcs
Skaven
Pro Elves
Amazons
Pro Elves
Humans
Ogres
This is a new league, LRB 4.0.
Just finished my third game, against the Ogres. No one died, one GR missing next game, but I killed an Ogre!!!
One of my GR rolled a double as his first roll. What would you take?
Not interested in developing a one-turn scorer yet.
Dauntless - kinda leaning towards this. Lots of fast teams. and he would be my defensive sweeper.
NOS or Big Hand - if I want to keep him in an offensive position, thinking either of these would be good. Which one is better?
Am I missing anything?
Thank You

Jump up is a good one imo, makes him a very dangerous player as he is hard to slow down

You think so, with AV7 and him being a GR, fouling him will be so attractive, especially if I give him jump up. Also with MV9, he has 6MV points left after standing up.
But someone at our club suggested the same thing.

Dauntless, definately.

Dauntless GR's are *frightening* to play against. (I once faced a skaven team with three blodging dauntless GR's

)
save Big Hand for a non-GR doubles. And personally for skaven I feel Big Hand is a better skill than NoS.

Dauntless has been picked at tournaments on a double by a lot of experienced players. They can't be all wrong!
Followed by strip ball, you have a big pain in the ass on your team!

Dauntless without any doubt (as you're not aiming for a OTD).

Dauntless without a doubt. Strip Ball or Block next and another double is horns.

Thanks for the input guys. I am going with Dauntless, then Block then Strip Ball. Horns on another double.
If I were going for an offensive GR, would you choose Big Hand or NoS first.
Thanks

I always thought that VLL was a good choice for the extra interception chance as well as the extra movement...

Big Hand since Skaven typically play more of a running game then a passing game.

I would try to go with one Dauntless GR, and one VLL.
Even if you don't care about OTS, VLL is an asset. I would develop him into VLL, block, pass block. Great to try interceptions, and the 10MA means that you get that much more movement. Add sure feet, and you have a 12MA (well, not really, but almost) GR.
If the opposing thrower is not able to pick-up the ball, you have an incredible chance at scoring.
For me, which one of the two above skills I pick would depend on the type of teams in my league. If lots of strength, get Dauntless on the first GR who rolls doubles. If lots of agility, get VLL first.

With 4 GRs skilling up quickly one of them will get a 6,4 skill roll sooner or later. Make him your one turner and save the doubles for "turnover" skills.

First GR should always get dauntless. I once ran into a dauntless, horns, block, tackle, claw, rsf/c gutterrunner. He got 7 cas vs my woodies. Even if you're not that lucky as my opponents rolling doubles, a blodging dauntless, stripball GR is a top ballretriever. even better with horns.

So, here's how my team has been developing:
My team:
8 Lineman (2xBlock, 1xkick, 1xblock and tackle)
2 Storm Vermin
1 Thrower(Accurate, rolled double 6)
4 Gutter Runners (1xdauntless and block)
9 FF 3RR Apoth
Teams left before play-offs
Lizardmen
Humans
Ogres
The block/tackle line man has been sucking up most of my MVPs. Got his second skill last game, and aged - niggling.
My last opponent the Amazons really manhandled me, heh. Apothecaried a -1AV GR, so had nothing to save a Stormvermin from a Nig. Going in to next game I'm out the niggled SV and the block/tackle lineman.
Two questions?
Rolled 12 on the skill roll for the thrower. He already has accurate. It hurts to pass up the +1ST, but accurate and Strong Arm give me a really strong passing game. Plus with out block that 4 ST is not as useful. So, I'm fairly sure strong arm is the way to go. Any differing opinions?
I have a 140K in the bank. Really wanted to get another re-roll. Once, I have 5-6 I can actually start to dodge my rats out at the end of my turn. But I think I must replace the niggled SV. Not only do I need him next game, I can not afford to have a SV miss games.
This is a new league, LRB 4.0.
