I've done far better in our league than I good have hoped for. I'm a new player in a league where many of the players are new. Our league has 16 games (about 10 teams in the league), followed by singly eliminatin playoffs. Regular Season record doesn't count for much--Just seeding in the playoffs, which everyone makes.
So far I'm 6-1
4-1 Win vs. Skaven
2-1 Win vs. Necro
1-2 Loss vs. Humans
3-1 Win vs. Goblins
3-1 Win vs. Dark Elves
3-2 Win vs. Chaos Dwarves
2-0 Win vs. Halflings
I've been lucky so far in that I have played lesser developed, finesse teams, but things will get tougher as I play the remaining Orc and Dwarf teams (which are also the best teams in the league, in my opinion), and all the teams start picking up block. Here's my roster with gained skills:
Blitzer - Dauntless, Multiple Block
Blitzer - Guard
Thrower - Sure Hands
Catcher -
Lineman - Tackle
Lineman - Tackle
Lineman - Strip Ball
Lineman - Kick
Lineman - Dirty Player
Lineman - Dirty Player
Lineman -

I have 3 rerolls and 10 FF, and an apothecary. I have built up a warchest of 180k. The question is how to spend it. My ideas are:
1) An Ogre, to start skilling now and to deal with the tougher teams coming up.
2) A fourth reroll.
3) Another Blitzer and Catcher.
I could also retire an unskilled lineman as I buy something.
Suggestions and the reasoning behind them would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your replies.

I'd probably also grab the ogre as you have enough games left to probably get two skills on him...hope for doubles on one of them

#3.
More Frenzy*with strength skill access and st 3 catcher*with agility access.
And more depth.
After that I might consider the Ogre or the 4th blitzer

an update
I bought the ogre and with him I held the line well in my next game, beating a tough dwarf team with some good rolls. I bought another blitzer with the idea to then buy a catcher and finally then buy a fourth reroll.
My following game was against a weak team, which I won, but unfortunately, my sure hands thrower died (and my two dirty players got hurt, each missing the next game). I was going to buy another thrower, but in the same game my catcher got an AG increase--I thought about buying a second catcher and using my 4 AG catcher as a thrower/ballhandler for a while. What do folks think?

I hate my norse throwers for not having sure hands.
In fact I forgot that the 1st one didn't have sure hands when the 1st skill came up so I took accurate. BAH.
I think buying the 2nd catcher before the thrower is the way to go.
You can play a running game witht he ag 4 catcher dodging out of tight spots or you can pass to him from anyone or throw with him to nearly anyone.. But especially the 2nd catcher. I think developing them is more important than getting the pass re-roll.
(And catchers cost as much as throwers so that is a wash.)
Best of luck.
