Doubble 5 on Black orc blocker as first skill

I know this has been asked 10.000 times before but what should I choose as the first skill. +MA, Stand Firm, Frenzy, Guard or Block?
I tend to choose either Stand Firm or Frenzy but are not sure at all.

my personal choice would be frenzy. you can survive a BIT longer w/o block, st4 and frenzy is still OK without it. just be careful how you set up the hit so you don't force yourself into bad 2nd blocks.
once he DOES get block he'll be a fiend.

Do you have any other Black Orcs with skills? I plan towards a lot of Block/SF/Guard Black Orcs if I can get the doubles, but I always reserve one for Block/Frenzy/Tackle.

I like the notion of the bit of extra speed (due mainly I think to my many positive experiences with Chaos Warriors) though I think Black Orcs with their lower AG would not be able to capitalise as well.
Frenzy on a blocker (rather then say a sweeper position) is a concept I was only reintroduced to the other day on this forum and it has some appeal. However, I think it depends on the state of you team at present. Stand Firm on a high ST players is gold! Particularily if you take great care to always place them so they are in and aound the ruck for the ball. Add in Guard (even before block) and you're laughing. But, if you already have such players available then Frenzy opens up alot of options for wide zone work and helping to dominate the three or so squares in from either sideline. My next skill for such a player would probably be Block to enable you to bash away with abandon.

My team is currently like this:
BO - Guard
BO - Guard
BO - ST+1
BO - double 5
Blitzer - Block, Tackle
Blitzer - Block, Tackle
Blitzer - Block
Bitzer - Mighty Blow
Lineman - Dirty Player
Gobbo - Stunty, dodge, Right Stuff and Catch
Thrower - Sure Hands, Pass
Troll - Mighty Blow, Very Stupid, TTM, Always Hungry, Guard, Break Tackle.
What do you recommend for that double 5?

Hmmm, tough call. You already have a reasonable amount of Guard (although it is not necessarily likely they will roll doubles to get Stand Firm). However, Guards do not need Stand Firm it just complements them really well. That said I think that another Guard (ie Stand Firm now and then Guard) would forfeit your chance to add some versatility to your team and game play options. As you already have your 4 Black Orcs I would probably make this one a Frenzier.
It would add a new trick to your bag and in combination with your two Guards and ST 5 BO would enable you to really dominate the field and drive a fast moving cage into the opposition's turf. I'd be scared of that Orc anywhere near the sidelines and a possible crowd surf situation.

Thanx for you help. I think I will take the frenzy and try to move the cage close to the sidelines

Shame. Diving Tackle is great on BOB's. I'd have been tempted with that

Could be nice too, but I think I will leave that to one of my tackle blitzers in case I should get a double.

I hate frenzy on BoB's.
Having frenzy effectively disqualifies him for participation in any kind of cage because he HAS to follow up. BoBs should be reliable in where they end up on the pitch. Placement is everything, and ending up in the wrong place, because you were forced to doubleblock some sidestepping elf can ruin your strategy.
I love Stand Firm for BoBs. It basically turns them in to a flesh golem, and we all know how annoying those buggers can be.

Frenzy on black orcs is a waste of skill. They are not fast enough to threaten both sidelines and will have to GFI a LOT to be effective sideline pushers, leave frenzy to the blitzers and go stand firm or diving tackle.
I can't count the number of times my SF BOB & blitzer have saved my games.

To Gumboo: Its a nice skill, but for the most part I'd prefer have the Black Orc on his feet and being a large road block to the other team. Also that MV 4 would hurt if you were always diving onto the ground. As FCNB99 says it'll be better on a faster moving blitzer with tackle, for sweeper work.
To Cloggy: I'd have to disagree. For one, there are already three Guards in his lineup so they would make up for the potential misplacing of one player. Additionally, its not too difficult to work out beforehand where you're going to end up (unless of course you are going after the Side Stepping elf you mentioned). If it wasn't, Frenziers wouldn't be so good at crowd surfing people. Consider this Black Orc your cage's lead out man. He drives into the other team and constantly threatens the side line push out. That is sure to weaken the defence anywhere up to about 3 squares from the sideline which is where you should be driving your cage anyway. Using the sideline to protect one flank and doubling up the defence on the other. This will enable you to drive a cage faster up the pitch and therefore potentially score more TDs and more loverly SPPS. Or at least decide when and where you are able to score to help dominate the clock.
To Lamoran: again I would disagree if you were following the strategy outlined above. Sure they cannot threaten both wings, but he can do a number on one! On offence this greatly assists your drive. On defence it gives a strong incentive for the opponent to use the other wing and thus help you to determine beforehand where the enemy will go.

Interesting debate. I would have to agree with D*Arguebus as one of the ways to win as an orc coach is to minimize the amount of players the other coach has on the pitch in order to march towards the TD zone. Furthermore he will get me more room to to so close to the sidelines as the opponent can't put any players there (unless he has SF) leaving room for a blitzer or Gobbo to run in for a TD.
Hopefully I can get SF on a BO later when I roll another double but for now the frenzy guy gives me another alternative.

As long as you setup your blocks correctly Frenzy is definately a threat just don't fall into the trap of over using it

Stand Firm IMO.
