Talk Fantasy Football

I am playing in a 16 game league. The league is not perpetual, so every team is going to start at 100 TR, and the teams used are going to be good in the early.

My guess for teams is going to be:

Humans, Dwarves, (H/D/P/W)Elves, Norse, Amazon, Orcs, Skaven, Chaos Dwarf and the other teams good in the early or not to late game.

Now I have seen some threads about vampires and they vary from name. Some being about how vampires are good, how they are bad, how they are decent, how they are broken, and how they are the worst team ever. Now everyone can't be correct so what is it? Are they that good, or that bad? Can they win in a league such as this one? I know how to use them meaning like dont field to many vamps at one time, start with massive rerolls, don't get attached to thralls. Now guys is this team a team I should consider and think to use as a serious team in the league?

So far the teams I have used are Necromantic, and Humans, so I know how a team can be pretty diverse. Anyone want to help out?

Well I have no experience with vamps but any team where a great deal of your players have a negatrait is designed as a "Tier 2 Fluff Team" which means they are meant for experienced coaches who want a challenge. I personally would go with one of the pracy ag 4 teams if you want to be competitive. Why? You want to score and these teams are without a doubt the easiest o score TD's with. It's almost criminally easy to play Pro Elves.

In this weeks match, I ran into a TZ with a catcher <NoS is just insane>Picked up the ball 2+ threw a 2+ quick pass, Caught the ball on a 2+ with a lineman and proceeded to run the ball into my end zone, and all this after bashing his human catcher into the pitch to free up the ball. In other words, elves are cheater and anyone seriouse about scoring can play them without incident.

Other end of the spectrum is to become competitve through attrition. Play dwarves front load them with Might Blow and plant everyone in the KO/injury box and score at your leasure.

I think winning the first few games with Vampires is going to be difficult. But after your third game, when your vampires both have block and you have a skill or 2 on your thralls as well you can actually play to win.

After the first 3 games i have only lost one game out of 8 or osmething. And only because of extreme bad luck. (like having 4 options with rerolls of scoring a TD on a 3+)

I think it is a reasonable good team, you can have nice games with them. I do think with their negatrait they are just a bit more dependable on the dice than most teams. If you dont roll too many ones, you have a good chance of winning.

The problem with Vampires in a 16 game league is that they are essentially 'late bloomers'. My vampire team is in their second season ( 1st season 14 games or so, including finals) & they are only just starting to shine (this season 5-2) . I think that around TR 200 or so they are quite competative, but before that, you are overpowered by all the starting skills that other teams have.

For the most part, vampires are always a step behind...any team with strength access (Humans, Norse, Dwarf, etc.) will have Block & Guard before them & any Elf or Agility team will be able to outrun & outscore them.

Your best setup is probably to max the re-rolls & focus on a couple of vampires (maybe 3 if the season goes well) to get them good skills.
