TR 100 Rotters facing Undead in tourney.

First game for both teams. I built my Rotters for long term Ranked play on Fumbbl, and drew an Undead team in the first round of the Royal Rookie Rumble tourney. My team is 10 Beastmen, and a Beast, with 3 rerolls and FF 7 v 2 Mummies, 3 Ghouls, 2 wights, and 4 zombies with 3 rerolls and 6 FF.
Obviously, I am hosed in the skill department. Asides from playing for a first turn gang foul with the beast hoping to get a rotter, what tactics should I use?

Run?
Beastmen:
Kills his ghouls, stay away from his mummies at all costs.
The wights are next.
The only players you should really bother fouling are the mummies in my opinion. You can't afford to lose players for fouls that are not crucial.
Beast:
Keep the mummies busy with it.

I'd play a little differently I guess.
I'd use the beast to keep hitting the AV8 players to hopefully get some off the pitch.
And I would foul the mummies as the mighty blow is the most dangerous to your team with no apoth. Mummies don't have thick skull so all you need is a KO to get them off the pitch.
but taking out the ghouls are the key to victory.

Agreed about the Ghouls, but I forsee regen being a problem with the mummies and wights. Then again, I should have front-loaded my team a little before entering them into a tourney.

I disagree with JJB I'm afraid. Keep the Beast as far away from the Mummies as possible and use it to tentacle the speedy people. If he cages then Blitz in with the Beast - with a tackle zone on the ball carrier and a few Beastmen marking the Mummies to keep them out of the way it'll become very hard for him to break free of it.
But yeah, you've got a problem in that you will have less speed, less skills, and less strength. A draw would be considered a moral victory in my opinion.
With 3 re-rolls I might consider the terrifying Nurgle passing play. Or at least, running hand offs. Tie up the Wights and Ghouls with the Beast and then just run away. It's a thought.

Don't foul with the beast. Regen will reduce the likelihood of new rotters.

The Chance of getting a Rotter is......zero, well not really but the Beast has to make the kill and most of the Undead also have their 4+ Regeneration.
Your aim for the game can only be to survive it. with 2 ST 5 Mummys and 2 Wights with Block an 2 Dodging Ghouls he has all the advantage on his side he needs.
If he has his 2 Mummys on the line you can easily can get a 2 dice Block one with your Beast and one with a Blitz (dont forget your Horns) If one gets out or down maybe you can have a chance, dont spent your RR on clumsy Blocks without Block!!! you will need them for your AG - actions, trust me.
The only chance 2 win is taking out a ghoul so if one gets down just against one of them make a foul and not with your Beast (without it the rest of your Beastman are dead meat!!!)
If you can see no light in the tunnel try 2 avoid 2 many losses.

My money says undead are much much better than nurgle - i think you will be stuffed unless they are a worse player.
Either destroy anything with low av - or use your whole team to remove the mummies. either way the game will be tough. Maybe even consider a lop sided tactic or totall madness as a surprise - pound for pound they outclass you in every way.

Not really. The Rotters have the advantage of str 4 blitzing beastmen, which was helpful. However, I dropped the match, 0-1, with a beastman dropping a pass in the end zone to tie at the end of the game.

Good effort. Ive never played with rotters but played against them a fair few times. I know they're at a disadvantage on skills, but if you tie up the mummies and wights, using the beast to blitz in and spoil a cage im sure would be very satisfying. Who knows maybe ill even take the Rotters for a spin at my next tournament. (Yeah right

Frontloaded, they play like Chaos does, with a slightly slower Rotter getting Foul Appearance and Regen instead of MA 5, AG 3 of the Chaos Warrior.

Dont forget the AG 2 of Rotters. And with their low MA 4 they are not really good at Bowlhandlers and TD-Makers like normal Chaoswarriors. So you have to play them like better Blacks-Orcs in some way. Foul Appearance can help you a lot, but some Teams can avoid the effekt with enough mouvement most of the Time.

I agree with Gumboo on your result - 0-1 with starting teams is decent. I don't think I'd have been able to do any better, except with great luck of course...

Well, I know I made some tactical errors that smess, my opponent on Fumbbl was able to exploit. Then again, by his admission, so did he. I think all in all, the game was winnable, but my inability to convince any of the Undead to leave the field was a factor in my loss.
