Hey, i'm going to a local tournament, (tr100) which will be a series of one-off games so i dont need a long term development team, but one that's good for singal games :D

I was thinking something like:

2 Bull Centaurs
4 Hobgoblins
6 C.D's
2 Re-Rolls
2 Fan Factor

Or

1 Minotaur
5 Hobgoblins
6 C.D's
3 Re-Rolls
6 Fan Factor

Thanks for replies

Matt.

Well, since you won't be able to get any ballhandling skills, I think you're going to want several RRs. Definitely a good idea to go with at least 5 Chaos Dwarves, though, you'll need the Block and Tackle. What about something like this?

2 Bulls 260k
5 CDs 350k
4 Hobs 160k
3 RRs 210k
2 FF 20k

i would say,

5 Cd's
6 hobos
1 Bull
1 Mino
2 RR
FF3

yes its only 2 rr, but all that block on the cd's you shouldn't burn the RR. If you are bothered about the ball handling then give a a hobo sure hands as 1st skill.

after that dirty payer on a hobo, block on the bull, an guard the big hats till the sun sets!!!!!!

then again,.........I'm not very good !

hmmm maybe, but im not keen on just having one bull c. i like to have either both down the wings or centre (i use them as a team :) ) maybe i should lose the bull c. and get another RR, hobgoblin and extra FF?

I love Bulls but at 130k i find they are too pricey to have at TR100

but the rest of the team is super cheap, so it's ok.

i'd do it thusly:

2 bull 26
5 cd 35
4 hob 16
3 rr
2 ff

relatively nasty team, as long as you can pick up the ball.

switching a bull for a mino would not be a winning strategy imo because the bulls are vital on offense, relying on just one is too risky.

lol :D

yeh the roster i feel thats right is:

2 Bulls 260k
5 CDs 350k
4 Hobs 160k
3 RRs 210k
2 FF 20k

i like that, it suits my style of play. btw in my curreent leagure, one of my Bull's is nearly on his second star player roll. His first skill was block, what should be his second? i was thinking mighty blow, as with st 4, block and mighty blow, mv 6 + sprint and sure feet he'd make a good ball carrier "hunter" 8) or to plug in gaps

what you guys think?

cheers, matt.

That's the one. You need 2 bulls and 3 re-rolls, and after that it just a case of maximising the number of CDs.

Block/MB/Sure Feet/Sprint is certainly a poweful combination, but what about Strip Ball or Tackle in place of MB? This way you give yourself a much better chance of popping loose the ball one way or another (Strip Ball will pop the ball loose even on pushbacks/push-pows - assuming the carrier doesn't have Sure Hands. Tackle will likely knock down the ball carrier more often, making Sure Hands moot in many cases). You DO have a lot of Tackle on the team already, however...

You probably will get at least 2 MB amongst your CDs for non-LOS dwarves (I'm thinking defense against agility teams here), though for CDs, Guard tends to be more important because they will get 'stuck in' the great majority of the time.

Guard is a must on my C.D's

MB is nice, but it's the third skill. Number two REALLY should be Break Tackle. It's *huge* to be able to blast through gaps to hit ball carriers or to break away from linemen who are trying to tie up your Bulls. And then if your Bull get's his rocklike mitts on the ball, then he's off to the races and near impossible to stop.

Grab BT - you won't be sorry, I promise.

A few leagues ago I had a Bull with Block, Dodge, sure hands and BT - he was a MONSTER of a ball carrier. Really, when he got surrounded with guarding stunties he was essentially untouchable - just sprinting from cage to cage as I formed them down the pitch.

Break Tackle is THE skill for Bull Centaurs. I usually pick it over block as a first skill. I run the ball a lot with the BC. It's a bit risky to get the ball to him, but once he has it, you're mostly unstoppable.

reckon it worth giving him sure hands to?
