Difficult choice

I just got a double for a skill on a dark elf passer, now, my initial thought was to go for strong arm or maybe NOS but I've never uesd either of them so I'm not sure how big an advantage they are.
I can see NOS being more useful on the receiving end of the pass than the throwing side as I can usually move into position to pass.
Strong Arm seems better, but still I can usually shorten the range I'm passing anyway so it doesn't seem a huge gain.
My dilemma comes from the fact that I've only got one RR for the team and I could take Leader to get me a second.
Can people with experience of the different skills give me an idea how useful they are in practice?
I think it's probably about 50-50 choice between SA and Leader currently.

I would choose strong arm.
The cost of the elf RRs is not as expensive as to waste a double in leader.

With only one re-roll I would take Leader, just because it can be useful in a lot more situations than Strong Arm.
After all, elfs Ag can still do the passing job quite alright as it is.

Stong arm improves your long passing game immensly.
Even if you dont consider your self a long pass kind of player it means you can hang back with your thrower out of blitz range or make a pass to an unexpected target without breaking a sweat.
Top skill for a thrower who already has accurate. Long pass on a 2+ RR anybody? Yes please!
NoS would be a bit of a waste since how often do you really make a pass in a TZ and you dont want to be leaving your thrower in a TZ after his throw anyway.
Leader is very tempting if you dont expect this team to last all that long. 1RR isnt really enough for any team and getting more and RR based skills should be your team #1 priority.
In a long term league though my pick, without question is Strong Arm (if your league plans to switch to LRB5, both NoS and Leader are passing skills so you will be able to get them anytime you like later on).

It's a question of coaching style really.
I don't play my elves in the"I have to score in 2 turns, even if it takes a Longbomb" style. On doubles I would get NoS, followed by Dump-off, since this allows you to keep the ball relatively safe with few players in the backfield.
(This remark applies for the rules I know, being LRB4. I'm still living in denial as far as the vault rules are concerned)

I tend to do alright with few RR, though it does mean you need to be a little more conservative, so I'm not _that_ desperate for the Leader RR. Obviously it would be good though.
I do like the sound of Strong Arm and Accurate combined. I tend to play a very mixed run/pass offense so the QB is near the line of scrimmage anyway but it would let me try and break a player for the endzone and hit him there rather than pass to him first and risk failed dodges etc...
As I don't have catch on the team though it might be worth taking the Leader RR and treating it as a transferable catch skill

If you play on long term, i'd go for Strong arms, combined with the AG4 and accurate, you could do long bombs on 3+. Not to be underestimated.

depends a lot on how you play your team. i very rarely throw anything longer than a short pass with my dark elves, so I wouldn't get much out of strong arm that I couldn't get out of accurate.
other people run the long passing game with dark elves, and would do better with stong arm. with 1 team rr, the case could clearly be made for leader too, although I tend to give that to a line elf with nothing better to do, who i can take out for the 2nd drive of the half, assuming i used the leader rr in the first. the thrower is usually going to be in at least every time you're recieving.

I'm thinking NOS to make it easier to pick up the ball when it has been knocked into the middle of a bunch of players and then toss it out.

You should be happy then since the new Dark Elf Runner starts with Dump Off and can take NoS on a non double.
Ironic that Im a big fan of the vault and I hate that change yet it is perfect for your playing style.

As many have said, it all depends on your playing style ...
- NoS : ain't worth it at all until you want to turn him into a ball carrier and give him dump-off too.
- Strong Arm : very interesting as it would allow you to turn your play in a long pass style. Long pass on 2+ with the pass reroll, or long bomb on 3+ ... makes you able to throw it veeery far quite easily. Personnaly, it's what I would pick.
- Leader : interesting as you have low rerolls, but they aren't quite expensive for elves and it's a good way to lower you TR a little (depending on the league you play) and I would definitely try to get this on a line-elf instead. Take this if none of the above interests you ...
- Other doubles : I see absolutely no advantage in taking Frenzy, Dauntless, Jump Up, Guard, Piling On, Mighty Blow, Break Tackle or Multiple Block (tell me if you find any

)
So, I think you have everything at hand to pick your choice buddy.

guess that explains why nobody in our league took it yet. That'll learn me not to read the description carefully.

True, I'd like mighty blow on the team but preferably on my witch elfs who hunt down the str 2 av7 players

I think it has to be Strong Arm, the extended passing just opens up more options I think.
