Need Advice for Dark Elves vs Nurgle (PBBL)

Ok well there's an important match in our league about to occur on Saturday. It'll pretty much determine who'll be in the play-offs. I'm asking on behalf of the Dark Elf player.

I'll list the teams first:

Nurgle
1 Nurgle Warrior with -MA
2 Nurgle Warrior
1 Nurgle Warrior with Block, Mighty Blow
Beast of Nurgle
3 Pestigores, 2 with Sure Hands
1 Pestigore with Block, Sure Hands
4 Rotters
4 Reroll
6 FF

Dark Elf
1 Witch Elf with Block and Mighty Blow
3 Blitzers with Blodge
1 Blitzer with +MA
1 Runner with NoS
1 Runner with NoS, Pass & Safe Throw
2 Assassins 1 with Dodge
4 Linemen, 1 with Kick, 2 With Block
3 RR
6 FF
Apoth

There's a 250K gap between the two teams so I'm pretty sure the Nurgle player will induce Lord Borak (he's pretty much obsessed with him.) The problem is this Nurgle player has pretty much gone undefeated so far this season and the D. Elf coach hasn't got the hang of playing against bashing teams yet. So while on paper he has the advantage, he's certainly going into this match as the underdog.

So how should he approach the game? The Nurgles will certainly be aiming for a 2-1 victory via the usual grinding method. Any advice would be much appreciated, I've only played this match up once before myself and it was an abnormal game where I Blitz!ed 3 times off the kick-off in the first half.

Seems to me that the advantage the D-elfs have is the fact that they have blodgers, while the Rotters lack tackles.

Make one guy a dedicated "Beast of Nurgle Marker" and he should be fine. Get into the tentacles and you are screwed.

When kicking run all your elves deep to try and get the ball. never mind protecting your own backfield, since as you stated the rotters are not going for a quick score anyway. If you succeed in putting a screen of blodgers between his ballcarrier and the frontline of warriors/beast you might be able to get the ball.

If not, revert to standard cagefighting tactics and hope for the best

On offense: STALL your hiney off. The rotters are not ideally suited for a quick counter score, and the amount of blodge means you should be able to put off scoring for a few turns.

Sadly as I'd thought would happen, the D.Elf advantage wasn't enough to overcome the stalling.

I wasn't watching the game as I was struggling with 1100K Wood Elves vs. 1740K Norse (managed a draw, couldn't knock over his blodging runners while my own team bled players by the bucket load in the second half.)

They kicked and conceeded to the Nurgles on turn 7 or 8 then had their own drive overturned in the second half and lost 2-0. :( Glum times for everyone, I'm probably going to have to build a Nurgle destroying team soon, not sure if it should be my Necros or my Chaos though, I'll develop both up and see how they turn out.

He got some lucky dice right at the end of the first half to break through my containment.

The second half - what can I say - my play error :(

And now he has a ST5 Nurgle warrior.

Actually, I spoke to him briefly today and he lost while playing against High Elves. The first match he hasn't been able to induce Borak since before Christmas. *hint hint* ;)
