This is my Dark elf Team,

I normally play bashy teams, so the agility thingy is very new to me. I have just obtained an AG 6 lineman. How should I develop him? My first thoughts were having him as a thrower and developing him that way, but I play this team quite bashy so not sure that an Uber thrower is the way forward.

Any advice guys for this player and for the rest of the team development?

AG6 does not make you a better thrower (because a 1 is a fumble even after modifiers).

What it does make him better at is dodging through TZs and picking up the ball in TZs. A prime use for him would be in conjuction with Strip Ball, dodging into a cage, taking the one dice block to squeeze out the ball, then picking it up and waltzing out of the cage again! Sure Hands is also going to be valuable on this guy, though Block and Dodge will obviously help keep him alive. I would be looking at a development path of:

Dodge, Strip Ball, Block, Sure Hands

... though not necessarily in that order! :)

Pass block, leap, catch. In effect, teams without a safe throw passer won't pass, or pass only to areas you're allowing. With leap, good enough to get the ball from few tacklezones too.

He already has an AG5 lineman. I think the Leap etc. route would be better suited to him. AG6 doesn't help you at all with leaping, and 4+ interceptions are enough to scare people. Besides, how many races actually use deep passing? Only elves really. Humans and Skaven throw a few quick passes way back in their own half, but Pass Block is ineffective against those. I don't think developing the playing as Vero has suggested will make the best use of that AG6. Pass Block is useless against Orcs, Dwarfs, Khemri, Lizardmen, Undead, Necromantics, etc etc.

Can´t you just ignore the AG upgrade and take a skill? Wouldn´t that be better?

Yes, you could do that. I was thinking about suggesting it myself. But I think an AG6 player does have his uses, particularly as a psychological weapon. Keep him protected in the backfield on defence and just dare your opponent to give you even half a chance to use him. :P

In PBBL I might be more tempted to pass up the AG boost and save 20K in TV.

my favorite player ever was an ag6 WE catcher. i'd definitely recommend keeping the 2nd ag+ you won't regret it.

in the case of my catcher, i also got the ag+2 as the first 2 rolls, and so developed her as passblock, leap, pro. looking back i should have done passblock, leap, block. but nonetheless she was a terror.

now in your case being a line elf, that's not quite as good, because you're slower and 2 skills behind (catch and dodge), but i'd still suggest passblock, leap, block. i know, that's 5 skills on a line elf, but you'll find that this guy will be able to bring in spp like nobody's business.

it (passblock) can work even on people who use the short passing game; you can put this guy 1 space off the line and if they throw it to anyone near the line you can at least get a free TZ on them. more likely what you'll do is get into your opponent's head and make them change their whole offensive strategy around that guy. That's often when players make tactical mistakes, when they're forced out of their "comfort zone" so to speak. use that to your benefit.

AG6 Lineman on or near line of scrimmage would be fouled off the field in first turn by bashy teams. I'd work on getting him block and/or dodge before I put him anywhere near the front line. The reason you take AG6 in my opinion is its uber cool and will make your opponent cater for what could happen if you send him.

i like the idea of dodge block and strip ball, very nice cage breaker. dodges into standard X-shaped cage on a 3+, with reroll, which is better than straight 2+ without reroll. by a whole 1/18  lol.

that or passblock. i suppose its a case of choosing which agility based activity you want him for. passing (will save you getting a dedicated thrower), dodging (into cages, endzones etc) or intercepting. have i missed any?
