Zon tactics

Ok i got the basics down (in a fashion) but up to now i've only played with CDs and Skaven
I've picked up the SF bunnies (cheers Tritex) and still debating whether to use them as Zons, Humans or Elfs first
Leaning towards Zons (just for the "feel" of the team) but i could do with some pointers guys. They look slow and fragile to me
Yep, i can see that there's going to be loads of blodgers after a few games but is that it? Is that their (only) thing - what am i missing?
Also, would they be ok in a tournie when there's likely to be lots of bashy teams?
Thanks

NO you're not really missing anything, the blodge all over really is their "thing". But that's a MAJOR "thing" in the right hands.
Essentially, with dodge, your line-women should almost NEVER end their turn in somebody else's tackle zone. When people without block or tackle hit you in a tr100 game (which is most players) they'll only be able to knock you down on a POW unless they are willing to end their turn, also a big deal.
That block/tackle exception should tell you what 2 teams you need to try to avoid too, especially early on.

Just don't play them the "elfy" way and start doing a lot of dodges, ag 3 + dodge is 1 in 9 chances of falling over and you can't re-roll that! A 2-die block without block but with a re-roll as backup is a 1 in 81 chance of turnover. You must play bashy with amazons, only dodge when it's necessary! Cage up and move up. Get guard on your blitzers and block on the rest (more guard for any doubles roll) and you can outbash anything but dwarves up to tr 180. IMO amazons are the perfect beginners team, they are very forgiving towards bad coaching and bad luck as long as one remembers to bash, not dodge!

let me see; CDs (and the like) and Norse by any chance
but are they an effective 110TR tournie team?

Perfect - thank you
Care to suggest a 110TR roster (there isn't one on the sticky). I reckon:
4 Blitz
1 Thrower
2 Catchers
6 Linewomen
4 RR
Apoth
2 FF

4 Blitzers
9 Linewomen
4 Rerolls
8 Fanfactor
1 Apoth
Is what I would do.

In a TR110 tournie - what use is the extra FF over the positional players? Thanks
PS sorry if i didn't make that clear earlier

for a tourney list at tr110, the roster you provided is pretty solid.

For TR110, or TR100, (IMHO) postionals besides the awesome blitzers don't add anything to a zon roster, as you won't be handing off or throwing, so pass and catch are wasted skills.
And you really _don't_ want to get a Pitch Invasion or a Get the Ref against with low FF, so Q.E.D. high fan factor and only blitzers as positionals.

Well I can see the catch being usefull, being able to make a quick handoff cwith some confidence can split a defence against slow teams. Pass however is indeed useless.

Listen to Gorbad, young Woodward, if knowledge you truly seek

. Zons are a (very) effective team at all TR rating tournaments, though used badly will leave you looking like a chump.
To be honest though, you're best off ditching the small time WPS tournaments and joining the big boys in the NAF ones. Sign up at
http://www.thenaf.net and then get along to one of the NAF ones soon - you'll soon pick up all you need to know.

i suspect i'm going to look like a chump then but i'm going to give them a go
joining the big boys in the NAF - sounds scarey
thanks for the advice. d
we had a drunken chat last year in Preston.
