Who should you give it to for any given team. I always end up giving it to a lineman on my orc team and if i ever play as an elf team, but i kind of realised that i might aswell give it to a blitzer, or another positional who sin't on the line of scrimmage, as a lineman is more likely to get used to tie up nasty opposition players is kick in tourneys the lineman skill it normally is?

Linemen are usually best for this. Blitzers/ Throwers etc have far more useful skills to get and linemen are cheaper. You can even keep a kicker off field until needed as he needs little other skills early on!

But could you put it on a better player if you don't use skills on all your positionals? It just seems to me that my dark elf blitzer is less likely to die than the kick lineman.

sure if you want to go that way why not but your De blitzer would be better off with dodge, tackle, strip ball, side step... etc

and give a positional kick its more reason to hit him
"hmm who to get the two dice block on...that blizter...or blitzer 2?"
"blizter 2 has kick. get it on him"
nice idea though, but id stick with the lino.

I've started giving it to my Orc Thrower. I rarely throw the ball with my orcs (pick-up & hand-off), so losing the chance to get Accurate isn't such a biggie, and tbh, I'd rather he doesn't get hit, than give him Block.

Avoid players who already have targets on them. ie your big postionals. I usually go with a lineman, but there are effective postionals to give it to. Black orcs who don't draw line duty and don't plan on getting any other skills make good kickers that are hard to get rid of.

I like the idea of giving a lineman the kick skill, but in tournaments, I always think there are better skills to have:
Dodge, block, guard, tackle etc,
How useful is kick as a skill?

It's pretty much essential for teams like wood elves or skaven who need to steal the ball before their bashy opponent (eg dwarves) can get in a cage.

totally...it's the first skill i give my skaven team. it gives those 4 gutter runners a chance to REALLY make you pay for even the slightest screw up in your offense.
it is, as tuern said, essential.

Thanks, as I should be going to PK&Q III and it looks like everyone is going to get the kick skill, I think I'm going to find out first hand..........

On a Orc team I get kick when I have finally got a lineman with block and guard usually. I honestly find with a slow team kick is pretty much a pointless skill. On the other hand, on fast teams as said earlier it is essential to force your opponent to look after the ball first and foremost. Every once in a while they wil fail pickups giving you the chance to flood in and grab control.

shagga, you must have missed the "in tourneys" part.
he's not going to have any lineorcs with block and guard.

Ididn't miss that part lol, maybe I didn't get my point across though. I do not use kick till my team is really well developed, so I think taking kick is a waste of a good skill slot on orcs personally.
