I was wondering what the optimal starting lineup would be for them.....I know I want 3 RR and both BC

I was wondering if there was a decent start that would include the minotaur or would I be better getting all 6 CD and get the mino later

But I do love the mino 8)

If you must have 2 BC, and want the mino:

Mino
2 BC
2 CD
6 Hobgobs
3 RR
0 FF

do you think a better roster would be holding off on the mino and maybe drop to 2 rr and get more of the CD???

darkson's roster is indeed the best you can do if you have to have the two BCs and the Mino.

however, i'd very much suggest dropping the mino in favor of more chaos dwarves. i would NOT drop from 3 to 2 rr, you need those rerolls for ball handling duties since you suck at it, especially if you have any aspirations of letting the BC's handle the ball.

How about this:

2 BC 260
5 CD 350
4 Hob 160
3 RR 210
2 ff 20

That's a much more competitive roster imo.

it is.

im using that, going well.
you get the postiinals and 3 RR's which are so useful for CD's due to awful ball handling. the mino id save for later - get your apoth first, and the 6th CD before the mino.

I had a test game with my Hooves of Hashut team yesterday...
This WAS my Cockerel then:

1 mino
2 BC
2 CD
6 Hob
3 RR
4 FF
(yes it`s LRB4 ruleset but stay with me..)

After being soundly beaten, mainly because the hob`s tend to leave great big gaps in your line I`ve updated my team list after LRB5 rules to this:
1 BC
5 CD
5 Hobs
4 RR
3 FF (I think it was..)

Now this list is a lot more what I at least felt I lacked in yesterdays match. Yes I want to have the mino and BC with me, they will just be my first buys

4 RR

and youve got the 5 CD's. first purchase, apoth. 2nd, BC. 3rd, CD :]

awesome.

Now I am not sure what to do...... :D If I do the 2nd suggested, the 4th reroll would be very nice, but not sure if that outweighs having only 1 BC or not. I would think that would make the BC an instant target...worries me a bit with no apothecary......

Truly, it's the reason why I play Orcs alot. AND my first purchase Orc Apothecary has only been used ONCE in eleven games.

Only bad luck should cost ya' your one BC. And you can't beat bad luck!

yeah ive never had a dead CD or BC in the last league, so unless your really unlucky he'll be fine. and orcs are my BANE. i had a mino last league and i was forever knocking down the lineman my mate ALWAYS used to take the mino on, and even with MB and claw [lrb 4 rules to] i never killed the damn thing! it was block, knock down, fail to break armor. or stun. it was HELL#

on the other hand i murdered the norse, mino had block by then :D

I fondly remember the day (last April) that I killed both BC in one game. And Apo rolled a 1...

But that Sunday is considered "Bloody Sunday" in our league. 4 Deaths in 3 games, Apo failed on all 3...

As a finesse player, I have to disagree with you. I think there are plenty of new skills (esp fend, and regular access to dauntless) that help finesse teams, and some of the inducements are outstanding for us too...journeymen, bloodweiser babes, extra apothecaries for starters. those are HUGE in helping maintain player numbers.

There are plenty of things to balance it out.

That's a suprise.

I'm tired of disagreeing with you weslytj. I'm just going to let this one lie.
