Talk Fantasy Football

Due to the absolute blast I had when facing a goblin team during the BUBBLE tournament, I have been thinking about trying one for the Dutch Open. The line-up I had in mind would be the following:

2x Troll
1x Fanatic
1x Looney
1x Bombardier
11x Goblin
4x Re-roll
3x Fan Factor
1x Cheerleader
1x Assistant Coach

This gives me for each match 2d6+3 on the roll for fans, which means I'd have somewhere around the 10k fans on average. My opponent either has to roll very high, or face myself having the positive modifier for FAME. The extra cheerleader and assistant coach will mean that those results for the re-rolls on the kick-off table will swing even more into my direction.

Any thoughts on the list?

One thing I'm still not sure about is what skills to give my players during the tournaments...

I have had limited experience with the goblins, but it looks like a pretty good roster......The only thing I would probably change would be to take a pogoer instead of a bombardier. The bomber is a blast to play with, but he tends to blow up himself more than other people.....Or it goes haywire and kills one of your trolls.... Plus the pogoer is great for movement. I dont have my lrb in front of me, but if I remember right the pogoer has dirty player, great for fouling key opponents......In your tourney do you have to spend all your cash at the start?? If not, I would start with less stuff and get the TV down and induce 2 star players and a bribe to keep one of your weapons on the field longer.......Fen had a great roster for gobbos but I cant remeber if it was a league or a tourney roster. On his he had the low TV and 2 induced stars and a bribe, looks like the little green guys could win some games with that roster, or die trying....

The roster I suggested would work in tournaments, but only if inducements are allowed (specifically Bribes and Star Players)

I'd love to play Goblins in a TV110 tournament where Stars were allowed. 2 Trolls + Ripper on the LoS Hooray!

I wouldn't care if I won or lost then.

So yeah, my suggested roster was more for league play.

Anyone know of any UK tournaments where I'd be allowed to induce Ripper? I've got a fully painted Goblin team itching to come say "Oi"

I think the poo-bowl is allowing two star players for stunty teams only

True about the pogoer (though I've tried it a few times in FUMBBL and didn't have that great results) though in tournaments you're able to give skills to your players and if I'd only be able to give my bombardier the pass skill, it would all of a sudden be such a nasty figure to employ!... Ah well, perhaps I could swop a goblin for the pogoer and go with all for 'odd-balls' instead of just three. It would most certainly create quite some funny matches.

In the tournaments I go to, all cash indeed needs to be spent before the start of the tournament. No inducements or anything, it's basically a team for a one-off game that keeps reviving after each match.
