Lizardmen, is this a sound lineup???

After a long debate on what to do in my new league, I finally decided on going with Lizardmen........TV 1000K league, was thinking about doing this:
1 Kroxy 140
6 saurus 480
4 skinks 240
2 RR 120
0 FF 0
Bank 20K
It is a little slower than I want my team to be (lack of skinks), but my figuring is with the bank I could by an apoth after the first game, and have a better chance of the MVPs going to a saurus or the kroxy since they are kind of hard to skilll up (7 out of possible 11). Then once I start getting into the season hopefully my 4 skinks will get SPP from TDs and the saurui and the kroxy will get SPP from the MVP and casualties, then once I get most of the sauri with a skill (hopefully either Block or a +1 ST), then gradually add more skinks later on.......Downside is I will lose all the kick off results for added rerolls, but I seem to lose them anyways.......Great at rolling gate results, terrible at cheering fans and brilliant coaching

Let me know what you think on this.....

I havea pretty well developed Lizard team at this point and there area couple of things in your list that stand out to me.
First, you only have 4 players capable of handling the ball (barring a lucky 6) and they are all AV7. against a player who knows Lizards they will all be either knocked out of injured by halftime.
Second, the two rerolls scares me. Some games you won't need them, but when you do, I think you will really wish you had more than that.
Personally, if I were you, I would think about dropping the Krox for a backup skink and another reroll. Earlier on, the Krox isn't really that much better than a Saurus despite the pile of skills he gets. That would leave you 40k in the bank meaning, barring a death, you would have your apoth after your first game and, since you are good with Gate rolls, should have the Krox after game 4 or 5. That would also give your Sauruses a bit of a headstart in skilling up.
One last point. You had mentioned hoping for the +ST and I would only like to point out that Sauruses are one of those wierd players where I am not completely sure the +ST is really that great. Consider a Saurus after three skills, one of which was a 12. Which would you rather have, a ST5 Saurus with Block and Break Tackle or a ST4 Saurus with Block, DOdge and Break Tackle? At ST4, most teams already need a friend helping out to get to a one die block. ST5 really doen't buy you that much and could, in fact, make the blocks against you other players worse because your opponent won't commit the extra player.

I started without the Krox, although I can find them handy.
6 Sauri
5 Skinks
3 RR
40 k left for FF, Cheeries and Assistants (I went 2-1-1).
Just a bit more safeness on ball handling, and I will get the Krox when at least some of my Sauri got a skill....
Greets!

I don't think you are allowed to start with 0 FF, or has that changed?

Yep, LRB5 means you can have a FF of 0.

I'd go:
6 Saurus
5 Skink
3 Reroll
40K in the bank to speed up getting that Kroxigor.

I agree with the 6 Sauri/5 Skinks/3 RRs setup, whether you invest the remaining 40K in FF/AC/CL or leave it in the bank is IMO up to personal taste.
However, I'd buy the Apoth first before saving up for the Kroxi.

Shouldn't we revive the sticky on starting team rosters for LRB 5?
Not that I mind answering the posts, thought. It increases my post-count

So would I, but saving the 40K speeds up getting the Apoth, which speeds up getting the Krox.

Maybe the extra reroll would be a good thing.....Plus the added speed of the skinks......This is my maiden voyage on the ss lizard so Im not all that up on things......I was thinking I could protect the skinks with the saurus and the kroxy, but now after reading the posts if I only have 4 skinks, Im sure they will get blitzed every turn until they are gone, then I have 7 agilty 1 guys kicking the ball around with only 2 rr.........I was just worried about the skinks getting all the SPPs and leaving the saurus in the dust....Why is it I can roll good dice for an ogre, rat ogre, and a mino, but the troll and the nurgle beast I continually roll 1's for??? I swear I might as well not have a guy babysitting them and just roll the 4+ with all the ones I roll for the troll. The lineorc on my orc team designated to babysit the troll should be wearing a T-shirt that says "I'm with really stupid"

I bet the troll on my orc team fails about 50% of his stupid rolls, when he actually moves he can never break armour. If he ever skills up, I think I am going to take Piling on and just try to pile up CAS with him. If he dies he dies, I have had enough of that dumb bastard anyways.....I think the only thing he is good for is distacting the opponent players. I talk bad about him, he will skill up next game and roll doubles and get block, then I will have an angry troll on my hands

What do you expect, it's a Troll.
My Troll on my ex-Orc team rolled lots of 1's, and always at the wrong time. In the end, I benched him, or just got him to stand on the LoS and look mean, which, as you said, simply caused a distraction.
Needless to say, I didn't do that well with my Orc team.

I read all these posts saying how bad the Minotaur is and how good the troll is, I see where they are coming from, higher AV, regen is huge, but the mino on my chaos team and the mino on my norse team (old rules, sorry) were real beasts in their day. I always had good luck with them, rarely wasting a blitz, rolling pushes or defender down, even my chaos one got a doubles roll on his 3rd skill (break tackle, multi-block, block minotaurs are awesome!!!!). If ever LRB4 becomes current, he can come out of retirement.....

I think my good karma with minotaurs is rearing its ugly head in the form of a really stupid troll. I am hoping he dies soon, and I will buy a new troll, and use a different troll model to try to kill the curse......Ive had fair luck with Ogres on human teams in the past, so I hope at least my Kroxy can become as good as the Ogres were.....I would just fire the troll, but I think he deserves to die after 2 casualties in 18 games with 9 SPP and just has Guard.............

I will go with the new idea on the roster, I will have to wait on the kroxy for a few games.........
Gotta do whats in the best interest of the team......

Kano,
you comment about your skinks getting blitzed makes me think you are missing a key point about the skinks. Most of the time, for me at least, they start in the backfield (which is fine with their movement). On defense, you can usually get three of them to anyone who gets past the LoS so it isn;t as big a risk. On Offense, you can use an extra saurus or two to cage them up, ot at lest serve as S4 roadblocks to them getting hit. The only time they are really at risk for me is when there is a loose ball on my opponent's side and I run a skink over to pick up the ball and toss it back to one of my other skinks. That leaves him pretty much alone in enemy territory, but otherwise, they are usually fairly well protected.
Try to use their speed to your advantage. If you are playing something slower, don't be afraid to hold back and make him commit. You can then run right past him. most of the taems that can keep up with you aren;t that much stronger than you, so a couple well placed players aroun the skink can make sure he stays on his feet.

Buy an apo before you intend to buy a Krox.
Lineup with 5 skinks and 6 sauri sound quite solid.
