what is the best first skill to give a kroxigor? I would normally take guard on a big guy, but the lizard team is pretty strong as it is, and i was thinking there might be a better skill i am ignoring.........Stand firm, break tackle, grab???

Break Tackle would probably be my first choice. I like being able to move my Big Guys to where they'll be usefull, especially one with as high a movement as the Krox. It also allows you to get your prehensile tail up against the players that would normally dodge away.

My first choice would be Juggernaut.
Even with Loner break tackle would be too risky for me: You have to make two dice rolls (one for bonehead the other for the dodge) before he can move.

That's really wierd logic, because if the Krox BH'ds out then he can't fail his dodge roll. So the BH roll is irrelevant, because a Krox has to do it every time it takes an action.
Instead you should be weighing up the type of action used. Which is a Move action vs a Blitz action, bad new for the Lizzies if they waste their Blitz because of a failed BH roll. Not so bad if the Krox loses it's Move action.

Juggernaut is a strang option IMO. Lizardmen have so many potential blitzers ... I never blitz with a Krox.
Guard would be my pick. It is passive, so you don't have to risk activating the Krox to get some use out of it.
You have to play big guys as if they will fail every roll IMO, and Break Tackle is tempting fate. Great skill for a Saurus though.

@fen:
When you intend to dodge with the Krox it must be an important move IMO.
So then you have to make 2 dice rolls. For the BH and if you fail it I think you'll use a RR.After that there's still the chance to fail the Dodge roll.
@Joemanji:
Sometimes I'll blitz with my Krox just to get free if an opposing player is adjected.So Juggernaut will help me and reduces the chances of a turnover.

My kroxi seems to like me, he has 11 SPP in 2 games. Had 2 casualties and a TD last game........Still cant decide what to take. If I took Juggernaut I think I would be too tempted to blitz with him all the time, and I do have 6 sauri, 3 with block that would be better served to do the blitzing...........I think I am at Break Tackle or Guard........

Each to their own. That seems of limited value compared to using Guard every turn IMO, but what do I know?

Umm, no. If I fail my BH roll on a move action I won't reroll it. That's a waste of a reroll... I NEVER rely on a big guy for an important action if I can use a different player. And seeing how I've got 6 Sauri on the Lizardman team who are ST4 and can get block without doubles, I'll use them for the important moves.
Its inefficient use of a Big Guy to have it so he can be pinned down by a pointless high AV lineman. And once he's pinned like that his Blitz actions are pretty much pointless. Juggernaut is good, but the Kroxigor isn't a blitzing big guy and to use him as such is inefficient.
My prefered choice would still be Guard then Stand Firm, so I don't have to activate the Krox to get use from it. But Break Tackle is my first choice if (for whatever reason) Guard isn't desirable.

I'm thinking of taking DT (LRB4 version) on a double when I re-introduce the lizzies to our league. But for a normal roll, I'm in the Guard camp (LRB 4 or 5).

DT is superb with Tail. Do they stack however? If so take this over guard, if not, er, take DT any way

I actually used a reroll on a bonehead b4. I used my kroxigor to blitz a wardancer with 2 skink assists to give me a 3d block on his wardancer. Of course I roll bonehead, then I risk the Loner reroll, actually succeed, blitz the wardancer and end up giving him a niggling injury.........

Unless it is a situation like that I try not to use my big guys for blitzes because they always seem to fail at the worst possible time...........My kroxigor got his TD on a touchback, gave the ball to him, and caged him up with 3 sauri and a skink, and the poor little woodies couldnt get the ball away from him. I managed to hold the ball for 7 turns throwing blocks at the little guys......

Yes (at least in LRB 5.0 I'm sure they stack) ... have to really put on my LRB 4.0 to decide if they would stack there. I think so ... not exactly sure.

Good to know that DT stacks with PT. I thought it did. It's not something I'm going to do with a Krox (I'd rather get Block, Tackle, Dodge etc on doubles) but I need to remember it for Chaos/Nurgle.

I can't wait to have a Tackle, P. Tail, Diving tackle Chaos Dwarf.
