Doubles on a +AG HE Catcher

Post by reservoirelves »

My Team

I got doubles on one of my catchers. Normally that would be NoS but he already has +AG so I'm not sure he really needs it. I'm thinking about ignoring the doubles roll and taking Leap instead.

What do you think?

I'd be tempted by Guard, as he should be able to get to exactly where you need him.

With AG 5, I'd go with leap.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss NOS. I think that would make him killer, he would never drop a pass ever. With catch, AG 5 and NOS. He could catch the ball in a crowd. Then dodge away.

Leap would be good to to make it even easier to get away from (what I assume will be) multiple coverage on the guy.

I would not give him guard, simply because I wouldn't want him to be in the thick of blocking. I will point out he doesnt have block, so knocking him over with two dice is still not that difficult, and with armour 7 you want him rolling armour as little as possible.

NoS. 2+ Catch anywhere is too good to pass up, and it'll help you get him up to 51 where you can actually get skills that protect him from being pounded into the dirt.

Alternatively, ignore it and take Block. But you'll probably regret that when you reach 51 or 76 SPPs.

I should have mentioned that there is one more regular season game and then the playoffs start, which has no more than 3 games. I don't think that he will get another skill before the finals (if I make it that far) so it looks like this skill is the one I'll get to use in the playoffs.

Leap. Fen is right about NoS in the long term, but leap would be the better short term skill and will go further to getting you into the finals.

I'd likewise think Leap. With ag 5 he could still catch with a rr in 2 TZ, then leap out on 2+. Easy money!!!

Gonna have to agree with Father and Gumbo here. Leap sounds like the best short term skill to get.

Leap! I've always found NoS is an overrated skill. You'll still catch the ball in a TZ on 2+ with AG 5 anyway. Besides NoS is a mainly offensive skill, you probably don't have any trouble scoring td's as is. Games are won on defence and leap helps a whole lot more with that.

If there was only one game left, than I would agree with everyone and go with leap. That will be much more useful in the short term than NOS, especially with AG5

Gaurd, push or sideswipe would help him get away from the markers you know he will have on him when he gets the ball and help on D

Pass or stongarm with that Ag and he can give the score to whover you want

Dumpoff if you want to keep the ball in hand but have it in your oponnent's half before you are ready to score

Leap is great on O and D, even without block it's an assist anywhere you want it
