Pro Elf League Development

so ive been playing with elves a lot recently, and ive formulated a guide to player skills. keep in mind this is for my particular style of play, and may not work so well for everyone. these would be in an ideal situation, where all rolls go as planned. i have tried to minimise reliance on doubles rolls and stat increases. also extremely long term theory, most of these guys would only have some of the intended skills.
2x Blitzers: dodge, diving tackle, tackle --->wide defenders
1x Thrower: leader, accurate, [strong arm] ---> standard QB type
Catcher 1: [Dump Off], Diving Catch, Dodge --->target man
Catcher 2: Dodge, Leap, Jump Up ---> 2nd target man
Catcher 3: Sprint, Dodge, Sure Feet --->sprinter (duh)
Catcher 4: [AG+1], Pass Block, Leap -->pass blocker (irritating guy)
Lineman 1: Kick, Dirty Player, Sneaky Git --->Kicker/Hitman
Lineman 2: Dauntless, Wrestle/Block, [Mighty Blow/Piling On] --->big guy
2x Lineman 3: [Guard], Block, Dodge --->support, all rounders
2x Lineman 4: Dodge, Sidestep, Wrestle --->wingers
3x Lineman 5: Dodge, Wrestle, Fend/Sidestep --->LOS fodder
so heres the system. on attack, i use the catchers and thrower, and have plenty of options. on defense i use the blitzers, kicker and winger linemen instead.
so what would you change in this? what would you add/take away? my trickiest choices are with the big guy killer...thoughts?

Diving Catch is not worth it, and with 50k rerolls I wouldn't take leader too. Also I dont see Block on any of your catchers, wich makes them an even bigger target than they already are. I'd try to get guard on any lino-double and definately stack up on block/fend/sidestep for the catchers and linos on normal rolls. Also I miss a dedicated Blitzer with Block/Strip Ball/Leap/Tackle and Juggernaut on doubles. Without him I dont see how you want to crack a single cage.

I took guard on 3 of my 4 catchers as the most mobile support I could think of, eventually dodge and block too, they don't really need any extra pass prevention/ assistance skills as they are Elves.
I appreciate it that Guard is a doubles skill and as you say you are trying to minimise them, but as fantastic back and down field support I could not fault them. they are just too quick
Blitzers: dodge, tackle, dauntless/strip ball.( or guard on doubles as added to sidestep that is king)
Thrower: leader, sure hands - again MA of catchers mean short pass and handoff to score is quite easy
I never went down the sprinter route, damn gutter runner -esque if you ask me
Lineman skills look solid
with guard on the catchers you can use them on either D or offense. AV7 is just too fragile not to plan to use them on D, otherwise you get caught out after a few injuries.

You actually let them cage? you have superior movement get to the ball first.

well as for cages, im not one to go straight for the kill. my plan is if possible, prevent the cage (hence the defensive blitzers, damned annoying), or slow it and disrupt it (blitzers again)
though i do like the look of the cage breaking blitzer, i might try him in the future.
diving catch now i think about it, was a throwback from when i considered a thrower with hail mary. id probably change him to a guard catcher as suggested.
as for the leader reroll...i see it as only adding 20k to my TV, as opposed to 50k.
as for lack of block, they would probably get it as a 4th skill if they managed to stack up on MVPs.
liking the ideas though...keep em coming

ideas and strategies are all very well, but as all gamers know, the best plan only survives until first contact with the opposition.....
pray for stat advances!

I wont give kick to my dirty player (wont take dirty player on lrb5 anyway). When he is sent of, you loose kick, which is an essential skill for your elves.

4+ STs? Is that all? I should introduce them to my Chaos side, who had 8+STs at time of retirement.

superstars?!?
you lost 9 matches.....
I will have to post the roster of my UNBEATEN elves, only 2 +ST but they won two cups.

Follow the bouncing ball ...
1 - Guy I quoted said that he was fortunate enough to get a ST Blitzer and called him a superstar.
2 - I was extremely lucky enough to get two ST blitzers at the end of the same match (the first I played with this team).
3 - Hence, I understand and sympathize with having superstar blitzers (which, based on the definition from the guy I quoted, would have been ST blitzers on a pro elf roster).
4 - I wasn't referring to my W/L ratio.
Thanks for listening.

Nice. How many matches did it take to get that many? ST5 CWs are a nightmare.

one +ST blitzer is a superstar. several +ST elves makes a monster of a team.
thats on top of 3 +Ag elves...for some reason ive never quite found a use for these guys...i suppose this season should i get one i shall make him into a cagebreaker.

52 at time of retirement. They held 2/3 Cups we played as well. Only 2 ST5 CWs, but the real stars were the Block, Guard, MB, Claw, Stand Firm Chaos Warriors.
The final +ST was on my 5th minotaur, they tended to die a lot. I decided to retire the team as although they had a lot of +ST they were well into Spiraling expenses and still had Blockless players.
