Please give me your advice:
I'm tempted to start out with:
4 Blitzers
1 Witch Elf
1 Assassin
1 Runner
4 Linemen
2 Rerolls
And a mixture of Assistant Coaches and Cheerleaders.
What do you think?

Depends on a couple of things.
1) How long is your league? If the league is long, I'd probably drop the Runner and the Assassin, replace them with linelves and a 3rd reroll if you have enough money.
2) Do you know what other teams you will be facing? The Assassin is OK against low AV teams, but not very useful against high AV teams. And if the league is quite bashy, you may want to think about minimizing the AV7 players in your team early-on.

For tournament play I would skip the witch and go with
4 Blitzers 400k
1 Assassin 90k
2 Witch Elf 220k
1 Runner 80k
3 Linemen 210k
2 Rerolls
This gives you a lot of variety. Witch Elves can really hurt opposition in the wrong place at the wrong time. Get Block on them Quick though! An Assasin for the members with low AV. And a runner just because you have an extra £10k sloshing about and its better to upgrade a lineman to a TD scorer.

Don't take the assassin until later. They are not reliable and witch elves are much better safeties! Just make sure you score with them so you make them blodgers fast. Some use two runners and dumb off on offence but that's very risky tactic and should only be your last resort. I'd go with
4x blitzers
2x Witch elves
1X runner
4x Linemen
2x rerolls
0x FF
20k in treasury to hopefully buy an apoth after the first game

which would be fine in league play, but this is tournament play. no later purchases and more than likely one skill after each game so no need to worry about scoring.
otherwise it looks ok. the 20k spare though use for ac and cl (1 of each)

1 Witch Elf
4 Blitzers
6 Lineman
3x Reroll
FF2
Assassins and Runners have AV7 and nothing decent to show for it. They are definately not worth wasting your 3rd reroll.
Get Dodge on as many players as possible, don't worry about other skills.

And then:
2 Witch Elf 220k
So which is it?

Runners have MA7. Sometimes this makes all the difference when you don´t have to go for it. I would at least take one Runner on the team and spend the rest for a Cheerleader or an Assistant Coach. Otherwise I would take the same lineeup.
A Runner can get also Leader, useful in some tourney rosters. And don´t leave home without three rerolls (IMO).

Totally agree... And with Dump-Off, even if it can be risky to use, they're a real pain in the ass to take the ball away from them. Especially from the hands of my AG5 Runner
And depending on the teams, I'd consider the Assassins... I can tell you that in 3 games with him on my roster, he caused 7 casualties (3 skavens, 2 orcs and 2 WE)

Take wrestle on one witch.
Wrestle is quite a wasted skill but on this b-witch it doubles the value of the player. Played a game with my dwarfs vs that thing. After the second block I really dont have anymore the desire to block her. Next turn she stands up and walks away! Just into the cage.
And I agree. 3 RR on any elfen team is absolutely the hammer.

OK; for future reference: i'm talking about a Tournament
As for Rerolls: i usually like to play with as few rerolls as possible: the more i get em, the more i'm tempted to use them on something stupid (which i could have avoided playing a bit less risky).
I'm tempted to take the 4 blitzer, 2 WE, 1 Runner, 1 Assassin and three lineman- route. More possibility for a running play, but a bit less robust...

The problem is that with Dark Elves you'll spend most of the game in defense. And that's when AV7 really bites.
I could agree with a Runner instead of the 6th Lineman though.

Obeliz always take a assasin (both TR 100 and TR 110)... and he always do pretty well.
Give him leap...and you have the perfect cagebreaker.

The problem with six linemen is that they soak up skill-rolls and don't come with skills of their own, and they only have a mov of 6. Tourneys is about making more TD's, not ending with more players on the field then your opponent (although one could lead to another)...
Tourneys mostly favour players with actual skills: two witch elves with dodge to start with is actually better then a linemen, that doesn't have dodge, doesn't have frenzy, doesn't have mov 7 and doesn't have jump up; only thing he has going for him is his armour 8.
As to armour 7; i'm used to playing with woodelfs and surviving with actual players ON the field

, it could go bad once you some bad luck, but hey it's bloodbowl; it can go bad even if you have a gang of dwarfs crawling around.
Like i said: we'll see how it goes
