Second doubles on Ogre!?

Post by clouds »

Hey guy's,

One of my Ogres got a second double for his improvement roll. Obviously, the first time I gave him block. I'm not too sure what to do with this one.

Ogre 5529, Block, Break-Tackle, Multiple Block.

Frenzy could be good, but would negate multiple block. Dodge would make him a pain in the ass to knock down. Tackle is also tempting...

I already have an ogre with strong arm, so I don't want to give him anything pass related for the TTM.

Any toughts?

Seeing that he already has Break Tackle, Dodge would be a logical choice.
If this is in an Ogre team I would definately go for Sure Hands though, ball carrying Big Guys rock! :D

It is an ogre team. Didn't think about sure hands.
I have a bad memory of an ogre carrying a ball with 2 squares to go and 4 turns left and hitting Bonehead every single turn.

Pro is always good on big guys too-gives you a chance to reroll the ones when boneheaded and for any double skulls.

I would give him Tackle. Ogre Teams severly lack this skill.

Yeah, a Blodger Ogre would be nearly impossible to stop. That would be my choice. Plus with Break Tackle, he would be hell to contain, if you were trying. Course who really TRIES to contain an Ogre.

As it's an Ogre team I'd definately take Sure Hands. With Break Tackle he's already geared to the role. He'll be a star!

Since he already has break tackle, I'd pick dodge. Otherwise, you can never go wrong with pro for a big guy.

Depends on what teams/skills are in your league. How much dodge is out there? How much bash?

Dodge is the first skill that comes to my mind but when I think about it tackle might be the best skill if you are dealing with any sort of block dodge.

Dodge, Sure Hands, Tackle or (just to be a bit different) Strip Ball*

*Not entirely a serious choice that one

Really small prints

I think I'll go for dodge... I'm surprise frenzy isn't a choice that comes up more often. I know it can put the player in a difficult position, but when used properly it's a good skill.

Here's the other ogres on the team, maybe it'll modify certain opinions.

Two with Block, Guard
One with Block, Grab
One with Strong arm, Standfirm
One with Juggernaut, Breack-Tackle
And the player described earlier that got the new doubles Block, BT, Multiple Block and ...?

The teams are dwarfs, Chaos (2), nurgle, lizards, human, High Elfs, Khemry

More bashing than anything else...

But at least 3 of these teams may get Block Dodge. On the other side, of these Block Dodgers, most are str2.

for my Ogre team, nearly every second double would go to Pro. 50% less Bonehead is something that can really make a difference. and a 50% chance to reroll those nasty skull-skull-push 3db into something more useful (like pow-pow-pow).

I agree with Tim ... I'd take Pro. Gives you a Dodge re-roll effect for use with Break Tackle ... but also great on TTM, blocks and Bonehead.

Galak
