Induced Mercenaries against a Dwarf Team

So the next match with my pro elves is against a well-developed dwarf club with the expected smattering of guard / mighty blow and two AG4 runners. I've got enough inducements to hire three mercenaries with one skill apiece. The question is this ... give them Wrestle or Fend?

Reasons for Wrestle - negates block, helps in my mobility, decreases his mobility by dragging guys to the turf.

Reasons for Fend - Prevents the cage from following up, but exposes them to Death by Pow/Skull.

I'm about 70% / 30% in favor of Wrestle. I've also got a couple of fenders and one wrestler on the roster already.

Wrestle.
He relies on block to both hurt you and keep his guys up. Wrestle foils both of those. Fend will slow the cage down, but is really more useful to counter piling on (which you didn't mention he had)

What about prince moranian and eldril sidewinder instead of 3 mercs? strength boost, wrestle and a bit more armour from moranian, and hypnotic gaze on eldril for removing a guard. Or moranian, 1 merc and a bloodweiser babe? Not so convinced by eldril, but i'd definitely take moranian, he's incredibly good value in LRB 5, even if his dauntless and tackle won't be any use he's still got a movement, strength, armour and block over a wrestle merc for 90k!

It's playoffs and our league doesn't allow teams to induce star players in the playoffs. Eldril would be huge here, but alas, no star players in the finals. I've had Moranion once before and he's a beast.

Shame. In that case i'd definitely go with wrestle, any of his longbeards who can be dragged down can be very easily taken completely out of the next turn with their stunning range of 1 square after standing up.

Wrestle is nice, but he will use only one during blitz action unless he wants to go in close combat with dwarfs. As there is already one player with wrestle in team I would go with 2 fend mercs and one with wrestle and use all 3 of them as expendable cage stoping wall.

Just on a side note: what about hiring a wizard? This would be a huge threat to his 8-turn-slow-grind as you could bust up his cage at any time (most of the players have AG2) and prevent the touchdown (and quite possibly score yourself).

Unfortunatly LRB 5.0 changed fireball spell - it is now same for everyone 4+ to knock player so Ag 2 doesnt matter anymore :(

Instead of hiring wizard I would go for 3 dirty trick cards - and hope to get bombardier

Yeah, if we were in LRB 4.0, I'd be strongly thinking about the wizard. The fireball used to be the Dwarf / Khemri killer, but not quite so much anymore.

I think I'm going to go two wrestlers and one fender, which will give me three fenders and three wrestlers. I basically need them to stay alive long enough so that I can delay the cage, cause him to break it early, and then strike with my ST4 blitzers.
