What skill to give an Orc Thrower? (Doubles)

I rolled doubles on my thrower, it's my first roll for him. I don't know how much I want to play the passing game, as Orcs typically aren't very good at long passes.

My team consists of 2 BOB, 4 Blitzers, 3 Lineman, 1 Troll, 1 Thrower, and a Goblin.
The only skilled Players are 2 of my Blitzers, one has Guard and Stand Firm, the other got really lucky rolls and has Dodge and +1 STR.

His role orginally was going to be that of running back to take advantage of sure hands to thwart strip ball. However, my 4 strength Blitzer with Block and Dodge seems much better suited to that role. So I guess my thrower's job is simply going to be: 'get the ball to the 4 str blitzer.'

Any ideas on what I should give him for skills or a different role he could play on my team?

Dodge.. and there's dodge. I still see him as your primary ball carrier. Dodge on your str4 blitzer just gives him reliablity after a blitz.

Yea, that was my first thought too, but I wasn't sure if there might have been something better.

The thing is you have to keep the orc mentality. You have passing skill access already not that you want to throw that many passes. The option is nice but I think it's best to do what orcs do. Cage and smash.

Cause of the av8 I wouldn't want the guy to get str skills. Gaurd/mb and the such can be on everyone else.

Diving tackle.. maybe on a goblin with sidestep.

I think the thrower is dodge all the way followed by block.

here's a thought: What about giving him Catch and Pass Block as my next skill. Then I can move him to intercept and if I do I can immedietely throw it to a Blitzer on my next turn.

Repeat after me:
"The better a player is at intercepting a pass the less likely it is he'll ever make an interception."
Good coaches just don't throw passes over good interceptors, at least not without safe throw.

Skills that might be usefull IMO:
Dodge -> for protection, makes him a very reliable ball carrier combined with block
Side Step -> if you fail to pick up the ball it will be harder for your opponent to blitz you away from it
Sure Feet -> MA 5 is a bitch on these kind of players, Sure Feet makes him a bit faster

Maybe sidestep, but DODGE would be my first suggestion.

I edited that to correct it for you.

Granted I'd take dodge if tackle was not common in your league or consider sure feet as I like the re-roll skills.

But a move 5 catch orc thrower with kick off return would allow you a greater flexibility to set up offensively.

If you want to use him as a thower you could always take strong arm, then accurate on your next skill. That would give you one awsome long bomb with a reroll automatic for pass.

But if you use him as a runner, dodge, sure feet, or sidestep would be better.

Dodge...Its very useful especially on a weaker armoured guy!!

Strong Arm is a thought.

Although, in the past, I've found that the running game is the Orc's strong suit. Maybe with a properly built QB, I could learn to do the passing game.

Thoughts?

Dodge or Sidestep. Dodge will make sure he does not go down easily, sidestep becuase he will be a nuisance to opponent who try to push him away from the ball.

I always wish my Orc Throwers have Sure Feet. MV5 is sooooo slow.

Strong Arm... I'm with having that extra threat....

remember strong arm helps on short passes as well..so with it, you've extended your quick pass options that sometimes are needed even if you only run the cage. Means not having to GFI once to get into quick pass range

IMO, Throwers are a bit slow to use as the Running backs...use the MA 6 blitzers for that.

Dodge is not a bad skill--it would be my 2nd choice on the thrower...but then, I like to have the option of throwing the ball occasionally...makes it harder for teams to cover everything you can do.
