Lrb 5 Norse

Post by Teluriel »

How well would you rank the Lrb 5 Norse in

A) league play
B) Tourneys

I'm gonna focus on 1 team for a while and it's a toss between Norse or Skaven (which is off course very different in style of play) :)

Any advice would be welcome :)

In lrb5 I think norse have really moved up in the rankings. Not only do they sport block on almost all the players they are given some extra speed and str and av in the proccess. The runners with ag access are incredible. The ulfs are no joke either. Then there's mr. big and fuzzy with pointy things.

Just a great team now. League or tourney it's a win win.

In theory I agree, but my dice say differently! That armour 7 is a swine

One day they'll survive long enough to get decent skills (the progression routes are good), but till then I'll rely on my runners with that delightful Dauntless... 8)

av7 is a curse and can never be broken

I am finding LRB5 norse a fantastic team provided you win the blocking war with out losing too many

I love playing Ogres in Street Bowl. The look on a player's face when they fall to break a Snotling's AV 5 with the automatic +1 to AV from the street is priceless and I get to see it at least once a game from each opponent as a general rule.

Just played Dwarves against a Norse team, and they certainly seem to have loads of potential. Good linemen, and varied and interesting positionals. However, I don't think they'd be too good early in a league (haven't played any tournaments), the reason being that they're bashy, thus get into fights, but can't really take the heat with AV7. So some will get knocked out, and if you only have 11 or 12 guys that might well leave you outnumbered. Furthermore, their passer is still a puny human, without AG4 or even sure hands, so he need an advance or two to be reliable, as do the runners/berzerkers for receiving. If they can survive though, I think they have huge potential. The Snow Troll is IMO also perhaps the best big guy, or maybe tied with the Kroxigor.

Hey that pouring rain becomes sleet within 3 squares of the Snow Troll (as the DYK states his Disturbing Presense is from radianting extreme cold) ... for sure a 5+ roll .. :D
