Double 5s on DE Assassin
After a brutal game yesterday where two of my players suffered -AV, I rolled double 5s as a skill roll for my Assassin. I'm leaning towards one of two options.
1) +AV: To increase his survivability.
2) Multiple Block: To stab twice.
Thought about +MA for better shadowing, but not sure that it is worth it.
My team consists of:
LineElf w/ Guard
LineElf w/ Dodge
LineElf w/ -AV
2xLineElf no skills
4xBlitzers no skills
Runner w/ +MA and -AV
Runner no skills
Assassin no skills, rolled double 5s
The league has 7 games left for the season, with potentially another 10 game season after that. My opponents are Nurgle, Skaven, Lizardmen and Amazon.
Should I take the +AV or Multiple Block. Or other skill/+MA?

Skaven, Lizardmen, Amazons. Av7 anyone?
Multiple Block, that would certainly be my choice.
Not so hot against Lizzies I know, but parking him next to two skinks (with supporting linemen) will force them to dodge. Plus I have seen 'just because' stabs take out Nurgle Warriors and the like before.

My next purchase is either a Witch Elf or a reroll. I only have two RRs.Da_Great_MC wrote:Seeing how there are no Tackle teams in your league, I'd just give him Dodge. It will keep him on his feet and greatly improve his mobility.
And get yourself a Witch Elf. Frenzy vs Skinks, Amazons or Gutter Runners = yummie.
I either get a Witch Elf first and give leader to a runner. Or get the reroll first then the Witch Elf, then I would not give leader to a runner.
Any opinions on that?

Your DE team is really similar to mine!
I bought a Witch elf and gave leader to one of my runners. I think the witch can help out more than "losing" a skill on a runner.
For the assassin, it's a tough choice... It would be doubtfull that the assassin will go up again, unless you give him the ball for TD. I think I'd go with Multiple block just to scare people off even more. And if he does go up again, I'd go with a jump up, to keep opponents from following the assassin when they put him down.

I agree with Block, dodge side step being a good combination, but isn't it a good combination for any player that can get it?
Just the treat of having an assassin that can jump up and block (on a 2+), people won't follow fearing the stab (or multiple stab). I think it can be one of those combinations that annoy people other than blodger + sidestep...

In terms of regular skills I'm hoping my assassin lives long enough to get here:fen wrote: I said that Stab + Side Step + Multiple Block was a good combo of skills.
Blodge is just obvious icing on that cake.
Dodge, Side Step, Jump Up
Jump Up is also a killer skill on an assassin when coupled to Side Step. You'd better break armour... (Add multiple Block to this to make it really sick)

I think I'd roll with the MA+ due to the shadowing possibilities, altho the multiblock contingent makes a good case as well.

Why waste a double and give him a skill he alredy has access to? Multiple Block is the answer here to teach those AV7 guys fear
