Because our league has an open format we tend to let new teams start with a little extra...under the following rules how would you start your Chaos Dwarf team?
GC's to spend: 1.100.000
Apothecary is free

Can the gold be used to buy skills?
BTW, how do regen teams get compensated for not needing an apothecary?

No buyin of skills and regenerating teams or players don't get compensation: ie. regeneration is enough (especially under lrb 5, where an apothecary tends to fail a lot more).

So Apo Teams start with TV 115 and regen Teams with TV 110 right. I think this is nice enough
I would start with the nearly complete roster.
1 Mino
2 Bull
5 Dwarf
3 Hobgobs
3 RR
1 FF
This gives you a lot of punch right from the start. And you still get the potential from possible Journeymen if your hobbos get kicked. Use the apo only on positionals.

That is a pretty potent lineup, I will have to give that a try once I finish my team.

So you would take the 6th Dwarf and a 4th reroll? Maybe nice too, but i prefer to skill my big guys pretty early. Just dont rely on them to much.

hmm ive just had some bad xp with the mino, av 8, getting both down due to some irritating frenzy rolls...ending up dead...major bummer

This may also happen in later games. But the earlier he gets bought. The less good are his opponents, so he can get skilled easier.

The same can be said of the CD blocker. And he's more dependable. And he's AV 9. And he has block & tackle. Additionally, CDs need the re-rolls desperately.
In truth, the only use a Mino has is as a scare tactic. And he won't scare a decent coach.
Dump the mino until you can afford him from your winnings.

Allready used him and loved him: didn't make one turnover. In total inflicted 6 blocking casualties with my team; and the mino did his part

That just means Nuffle is building you up to pull you down.
Who did you play that gave you so many casualties?

Rookie Big Guys == Turnover machines. I usually avoid them.
Once in a while I put them on a starting roster. I think that this has to do with me needing a reminder of what pain is like.
Now there are some exceptions. I'd consider the Snow Troll on a Norse starting lineup ...

Vs. Norse. Low armour is always nice...and he didn't have a snow troll...
