my teams played 9 matches so far in my local leauge and as it stands it now consists of 4 bob's, 4 blitzers, a troll, a thrower, and 5 line orcs. i have no idea what to fill my last player slot with. i was going to get a gobbo but due to the amount of smashy teams in the lauge i dont think he would live long. any help on what to take next is much appreciated
sorrys if its in the wrong section its my first post

Well first some more detail would help. How many games are left in the season approx? What are the skills on your players, what is your TV and so on?

Yes, please give us more details.
But generally speaking, you may have too many players. To reduce your TV, you can get rid of linorcs. The lower your TV is, the better.
I would get some Goblins, even in a bashy league. They are extremely useful. With Stunty and Dodge, they can go places your other players can't. They're cheap, so if they die, you just replace them. They are somewhat disposable, so you can use them for the more risky plays.
And in a pinch, you can try to throw them with your Troll. It usually fails, but if you need to score in one turn to tie or win the game, you don't have anything to lose.

10 games left to play,3 black orcs have block, 3 blitzers have might blow, 1 has guard aaswell and another has movement 7. one line orc has dauntless, a niggling injury and armour 8. everyone else has standard stats.
the other teams are necromantic, orcs and dwarfs
excuse my stoopidity but whats 't.v'? im assuming team value? if so it dosnt matter beacuase we are palying lrb4, only two of us had acsess to lrb5 when the leauge started

If you play LRB 4 then TV is really no issue for you.
I would recomment get a gobbo, out of the causes mentioned above. I would also recommend to get rid of this dauntless lineorc. Niggl and AV8 wont keep him much on the pitch, so he just pushs your Team Rating.
If not retiring him, use him as linefooder and hope he dies.

retire the dauntles orc and get 2 gobbos.
Gobos are squishy you are right, but even playing mostly bashy teams they give you a good chance to get that needed assist here or there, and even without wrestle (assuming lrb4) you might just get the ball loose with just a goblin and a 2 dice (opponents choice of course) block.
Goblins provide flexibility to orcs and imho they just need that - it makes your team dangerous the moment one of the goblins is 8 squares away from Endzone - so your opponent mostly will keep some players back, makeing it easier for your cage to move forward.

Take the gobbo since the chance of a 1 turner at the end of a half is worth having him and if you do play against a team low on block/tackle he's very useful indeed.

I'd dump the injured lineorc as well for two gobbos, I like to use my gobbos to take away assist or use them as speedbumps (not big enough to be road blocks). I really don't care if they die cause that means my T.V. or Rating goes down.

I'd buy a gobbo, it's not like orcs NEED a full bench anyway. If the gobbo dies, buy another one. Goblins are like Doritos "Crunch all ya want, we'll make more!"
I'd also fire your worst line orc for a 2nd thrower. I find line orcs to be more or less useless as anything greater than a space filler...at least a thrower has 2 semi-usefull skills, and the AV8 is not that great a liability.

Now, I didn't say replace ALL the line orcs with gobbos...but certainly one or two would be good. Don't be afraid to switch them in...and don't underestimate dodge and stunty, especially on a bashy team.

Yep, agree to this 100%. Just having one or two players with Dodge and Stunty on the field will cause your opponent to rethink their plays. And many coaches underestimate dodge and stunty, which you can take advantage of. Some other coaches overestimate them and put lots of effort to remove them from the pitch. Both scenarios are good for you.
And as already said, if he dies or gets injured, you just get a new one.

Mmmm. Stunties are like free SPPs. That's why we go for them and why I like to put a few out for people to target. Go for the ice cream and I'll steal a TD. Don't go for them than they'll steal a TD.

It's all good.
