LRB 5 Deathroller
I bought my deathroller in my league finally and I seem to be having pretty good luck with it so far. Our league you get 100k in inducements for each team that can be used on pretty much anything but Star Players. Then if you get furthur handicap inducements, then that money can be used to buy Stars.
The 2 games with the deathroller, I buy a bribe to try to keep it on the field longer. First game it threw some blocks, but didnt do a whole lot. But it ended up getting the MVP. 2nd game it got its first casualty, so a skill. Rolled double 3's, took block.
I have never turned down a +ST on anything ever. If I rolled sixes instead of threes, I couldnt see turning down Block to have ST8. Since the deathroller gets 3 dice on most players anyways, and dwarves are usually loaded with guard, I cant really see taking +ST on the roller.
If I was so lucky to get a second set of doubles on its next skill roll, and this time I did roll a 12, I'm pretty positive I would turn this down again and take Dodge, Tackle, or Frenzy.
Is my thinking right on this, or am I missing something obvious?

I wouldn't take the STR+ since it wouldn't serve you, not even on a break-tackle.
I'd go for tackle... People will be have problem dodging away from you and you'll be better at nailing does little elves down.
Strip ball good be a good pick. You can easily break into a cage using break-trackle and than nail that ball carrier and get the ball away from him.
On a normal roll, definetely give him Multiple Block.

forget all the dodge, sure feet and guard...piling on, no way, the last thing you want is the roller to lie down...and it allready has juggernaught!
drop +STR, STR 8 is far from better than STR 7 + block!
all you want is a crazy blocker:
multiple block/frenzy/tackle/block
maybe grab later on,

Boy. Have you read the rules? Most of these Skills cancel each other out in LRB 5.0!

Having had a DR with MultiBlock (BTW his name was Dred Fibnar, Best name ever IMO! Non=Uk residents may be confused
)
Anyway MB was very very annoying, lowers the dice to two dice. And without that block. Grrrr. RR burner that's all I got to say.
Therefore if I had the chance I would give him Frenzy, Works so much better with the other skills. You already Have juggernaut, to turn them blocks into a push back an attack again.
After that I would get him tackle or guard.
Grogmir.
