Dwarf 1.1 Mil Starting Cockerel - v. long league

Well my team starts in a league with loads of finese teams with loads of high-rr teams (average ~ 180) and some newer teams (120 to 140).
Dwarf 1.1 Million
2x Blitzer
2x Runner
2x Trollslayer
6x Blocker (= 12 Startingplayers)
3x Re-Roll
Apoth
1 x cheerleader, ff or a-coach
+ 5 extra FF (we get those for free)
I wanted to start with 12 Players + apoth for following reason:
Most teams have some pretty tough players (+st, block and mb lineelves for example) and almost anyteam has a dirty player.
My planned development is to get the Deathroller as soon as possible (I should have no problems getting enoug bribes to field him all the time due to such a low RR vs. the high RR teams and I dont realy need him for the low RR teams where I would use him only when reciving).
Then some lineman and 1-2 RR.
I also get 2 skills to give away for free.
I actualy thought I would give Block to both Troll-Slayers or 1 Block Runner and 1 Block Trollslayer.
On the other hand: those guys develop pretty fast compared to blockers - so standfirm, guard or fend on 1 or 2 of the blockers would be nice as well.
Edit: Forgot we even get extra 100.000 for inducements for everygame

That's a dumb idea. there has to be something fluff related behind that.

well even tho I am the comish this did not grow on my pile of crap.

I introduced the LRB 5.0 rules to our league with the MBBL Ruleset and we:
- voted for everyhouse rule in the MBBL if we want to have it
- made our own house-rules and voted for them
- made up houserules to balance out somethings - and voted on them
Our league was created with LRB 3.0 witch had pretty much chaos going on and most of our coaches love those things - so that houserule from the MBBL was taken over as well.
I hope this helped understanding our house-rules and reduced the modifyer for dice-rolls on the possibility of next posters trying to post "on topic"

Normaly if you get the 5FF for free, you are not allowed to buy extra FF, but this could be another houserule, dont know.
I think your lineup is not bad, but since youll get alot of inducements, why not directly start with the death roller? Get rid of 2 Blockers, and buy it. Or a blocker the apo (is not so good under lrb 5.0) and a reroll.
The death roller will cause real mahyem on the field.
For your 2 skills:
Your Troll Slayers allready have block. Its a standard skill for them. So the question is give block the the runners, or guard to the blockers, blitzers. Mighty blow could be good too, so the two guys will get guard quite fast after this.

tackle to both blitzers or tackle to one and mighty blow to the other.

I think you should have the Deathroller! In league it is a really good extra and even though it goes off after first TD it still causes some real damage and often takes a player or two with it.
You reall need 12 players though so you can field another player if kicking first!
Good luck!

Two free skills, interesting. A couple of things spring to mind.
Guard is something you'll have a lot of. But it's never too early to start. I'd start by giving it to your blitzers. With their higher MA and AG, you are more likely to be able to move them and their assist to where they're needed.
Or beef up your more vulnerable players straight off. That means block for both Runners. After that Kick-Off Return, Dodge on doubles etc
Or tailor it the league. If there is a lot of fend or wrestle (real murder on a dwarf team), create players to get around it by giving Juggernaught to your Troll Slayers.Or Stand Firm o let them play by the sidelines.
Hmmm, guess they are a whole bunch of options. Good Luck with whatever you choose.

guard to two longbeards. this'll make it easier for them and other LB's to get more skills in the long run.
or at least thats how i see it...

Guard on the blockers is never a bad idea. They'll be the slowest players on your team to skill up so it's worth considering giving them a skill to start with.

finished two test games now, guess I am going with Guard on two line-men and now Ill test how I like having 11 players+deathroller. *sigh*
