After playing fumbbl for a short while, ive finally found a group that play tabletop blood bowl, and i have decided to go along and play some games. Ive plumped for humans, and after ordering some stuff at my disposal to form a team i have 4 blitzers, 2 throwers, 4 catchers and 8 lino's and i was wondering what sort of team you would make.
They are starting a league up but first their playing a number of practice games using the samerules as for the waterbowl tourny:
1.1mil to start with.
You can either have
1) 4 normal skills and 2 doubles skills
2) 4 normal skills 1 doubles skill and +1M
3) 5 normal skills and +1AG
4) 4 normal skills and +1S
How would this affect what you take both player wise and skill wise.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Grish

Humans are the ultimate flexible team, and as such can make any of those options work for them.
I'd be tempted by the 5 skills and +1 AG set personally, and might pick:
- Thrower w/ AG 4 (really cuts down on your ball handling turnovers, boosts his passing and gives him the chance to dodge out of a tight spot).
- Blitzer w/ Strip Ball
- Blitzer w/ Tackle
- Blitzer w/ Guard
- Blitzer w/ Guard
- Catcher w/ Block (or maybe lino w/ Kick)

I would have gone for 4 normal 1 double 1 MA
Blitzer +MA
Blitzer - Dodge
Blitzer - Tackle
Blitzer - Strip Ball
Catcher - Block
Thrower - accurate

On skill choices I agree completely with Joe, although I'g go with Kick on a Lino.
As roster:
4 Blitzers 390
1 Thrower 70
2 Catchers 140
5 Linos 250
4 RR 200
50 k left for an Apo, opr divided into FF, CL or AC.
Good luck!

having played humans in 2 tournaments having 2 blodge catchers is very useful
couple of guard, kick is nice to have as well
tackle is handy as is stripball though depending on the other team both can be negated

I'd take frenzy over tackle though. Frenzy also helps bringing down blodgers but is on top of that very good even if your opponent has no dodge players. It also gives you chain- and crowdpushing options, IMO you need at least 1 frenzy player!

Good idea that man!
Myself and Ogrestan did quite a few "Training games" just to get the feel of our teams. We each in turn threw as many variants of teams at each others tourney teams. Gave us a good feeling for how they'd do. Admitedly it was a rough look at the effect, as we both came in under the halfway mark at the tourney!
