STR+ beastman, double 5's... now what?

My Str 4 beastman got a double (5's) on his second skill roll.
I initially chose Jump Up (get him back quickly after a knock down), but leap wouldn't be bad either (especially once he gets VLL). Then again, dodge would be nice as well.. I haven't played a match yet, so I can still change my mind.
What should I give him? Other detail about the team: two ag4 beastmen

dodge is probably the best choice

Thanks... Then again, in our cup tournament I will have to play Dwarves, rendering dodge useless.
O well... I'll give him dodge, he'll probably die on a dodge double 1 against a gobbo team

I would have taken the +AV for 6439 = faster chaos warrior, it's always nice to have 5 Chaos Warriors on the Chaos side. And the Beastman's AV of 8 is the weak point in the side. Then at 31 I'd take Block, I think I'd be pretty happy with a 6439 Block Player.
These days I pretty much turn the first 10 I roll with any beastman into +AV.

yeah, speed's where's it at. But Leap is ridiculous. If you got a +1AG, then yeah, give him Leap and then VLL. But now it'd be a 50% change of getting the leap, so it's not worth it. If you have dwarves in your league, then speed is what you need.
However, if you fear getting hunted down, then go with +1AV. But for me, you have 9AV players. You don't have any 7MA players.

just to reiterate my point on the AV, one of my old Chaos sides had 5 +ST beastmen and almost every single one of them got injured and stat decreased, I ended up with two of them losing movement, one lost and agility and the other lost an AV.
The guy who didn't lose anything? I rolled exactly what you rolled and took the +AV.
He ended up 6439 Horns, Block, Guard, Mighty Blow and was my best beastman by a long margin (just behind by my +ST, Block, Dodge, Break Tackle, Guard and +ST, +ST, Block, Tentacles, Stand Firm Chaos Warriors)
All of the others eventually ended up retiring because at AV8 people targetted them for removal, and they were right to do so. So I think any opportunity to protect an expensive, rare and valuable +ST with +AV should be taken. Especially as you're not going to get Block until 31SPPs, which could take a long while for a chaos side player.

If you got a 6438 beastman he will be very usefull as a blocker/blitzer.
And as fen said. Along the way he will probably loose stats.
-AG doesn't matter as he won't handle the ball (two +ag beasts).
-ST well back to normal.
-MV he still got ST 4.
-AV ouch not good.
So I say go for the +AV as if he looses it in the future it won't mather that much.

Do you already have a Leader? Well, I would take Side Step, but it would be just me (I love this Skill ^^). Hm, Leader, Side Step oder Jump Up would be the best choices for the Beastman ^^

Well, since I'm the dwarven coach that will be playing you, I suggest you take the most worthless skill you can find
But seriously: I'd wouldn't take the +AV. Yes, beastmen die. Of course they do, Bloodbowl is a brutal sport so it always ends up this way. You'll always see he'll get blitzed by a player with claw that renders it useless. But don't be to afraid of that, it can happen anyway. I'd rather take skills that can be used more often and effectively. +AV only helps when he's taken down, and the chances for that are smaller anyway because of his +ST. Especially in our not too old league with still young teams, I'd rather take some speed, cause your opponent has to react on it by placing his ball carrier more secure which frees up other players. And I can tell you anyway that as a dwarven-player I hate everything that has MV7 of higher.

Ah yes, ma'm a typical case of dwarves in your league. If you had used Extra Speed® your washing machine would now still be as new.
Seriously, there aren't that many dwarves in the league. They're not nearly such a plague as just about every other team.
Take pass :p

+AV, going from 8 to 9 is huge. And chaos is a bashy team with AV 8 linemen, I'd take any +AV on a beastman I can get.

Aw man, now I still don't know what to take.. Too many options
Right now I'm leaning towards the extra movement, A MV 7 STR 5 blitzer is always dangerous...
But knowing me, I'll wake up tomorrow thinking that's a silly idea, and I should progress to a blodger. Then again, jump up comes in handy often.
Though I'm pretty convinced I shouldn't go for armour. I do have an apo, and AV8 isn't THAT bad (ok, now I sealed this beasty's faith...

)
EDIT/UPDATE: Ok, it's settled, it's going to be the armour! This guy needs additional protection.
