New team 2nd season of a league

I am going to be started a second team in my league. We are allowed up to two teams. Last season I played only Lizardmen (fairly successfully). I had the best record in the league but lost in the semi final game.
So I am looking for a team that is completely different and will require a different strategy. I played a fast offense scoring on average over 2 TDs a game. But my cas count was low because of my fear of blocking without block and the inability of my sauri to do any real damage.
What team would you suggest. I have the minis for Wood elfs, Chaos, Skaven, humans, orcs, and halflings. The league also allows proxy teams so really anthing is available.
As of last season the league had: 2 skaven, 2 orc, 2 lizardmen (including me), 1 goblin, 1 chaos, 1 dwarf, 1 high elf, 1 chaos dwarf, and a khemri.
Any imput would be helpful. I want to play another team but can't decide.

Looking at the league and what you are playing (lizzies) I'd give Necro or Norse a try.

I like variety in a leauge so I'd pick Human (if you want to win), and Halflings if you just want to have fun.

Well, picking Halflings will atleast ensure your opponents have fun.

I voted Orc, but looking again, I would have voted other and suggested Dark Elves, there is a niche for them in that league set-up.

I've really started enjoying playing Norse. And they can score pretty quick

I wouldn´t take Norse in second run ^^ The biggest Point for Norse is, that they all have block, but most of the enemy team doesn´t, but that has changed at the second run and without additional skills it could be hard (Tackle on every Blitzer, Strip Ball etc...). I would take Goblins. Yeah, really. First of all, you have Two Big Guys, Trolls, very hard to kill. Second, the Goblins are sooo damn cheap, you can buy 1 or 2 every game, if they are killed. Third, they aren´t so different from Lizardman´s Skinks, so you can use your collected skills ^^
If you don´t like Goblins, what about Dwarfs? They are tough enough to Withstand most second season teams ^^

Yes, this only means that they are still standing at the end of the turn, but then again so are you. Having a player Starting With Block, is always better than having a player that doesn't.
Not trying to start an argument, just MHO

Voted Orc. Both human and orc teams are quite the opposite of lizzies.Lizzies have a few distinct strong points and weaknesses, these are the two teams that have this the least. I voted orcs, because I think the lack of mobility will pose the biggest challenge to someone used to plkaying lizzies. Another option would be Chaos I guess.

By your logic, you shouldn't take Gobos either since everyone will have Tackle the second time around. There's always a counter for every team.

But Tackle isn´t the first skill every Lineman gets. First Lineman with Skill gets kick, then all Lineman get Block, at the second round they get tackle maybe ^^
Additionally, Dodge isn´t the "main weapon" of the small goblin team, it is a bonus, but for Norse it is the main weapon. It is their biggest advantage against all other teams ^^

I would go along with Norse for reasons mentioned above or Chaos Dwarf for that matter, reasonable starting skills with a spread of movement on the team.

I would play either Classic Undead or Nurgle. I enjoy playing these 2 rosters a lot, and the BON is the best big guy in the game. The Nurgle roster really has improved dramatically in LRB5. The Undead is one of my favorites, so thats always a choice for me.

Tackle IS the first skill I give to Norse Linemen (that mixed with Pro) especially in a league with Gobbos, Zons, and other teams that rely on Dodge. But I get your point. Most team's linemen don't take tackle first.
And I disagree about Dodge being the main weapon of Gobbos. Dodge is what keeps them up (otherwise they go down FAST), and it's needed to reroll all those Dodges that they make (and they make a lot of them). So I totally disagree with you on that point.
