Orc Tr110 and skill choices

My latest attempt at a Tr 110 Orc list has no linemen in it, which I think will annoy the living crap out of my Oppo's.
4 BOB's
4 Blitzers
1 Troll
1 Thrower
2 Goblins
3 RR
1 AC
1 CL
I am having trouble with skill selection. Say you can have only 3 normal skills over the course of the event, what would they be?
I fancy Leader on the Thrower, Tackle on a Blitzer and Sure Footed on a Goblin.
Any thoughts?

If its resurrection I would drop 1 gobbo & the CL or AC & add a lineorc.
One is enough in that format & they are kinda squishy - & on defence you can usually hide one in the centre behind the LoS, with 2 this is harder to do, it can often mean a 2 dice block & a hole down one side - not to mention a dead goblin. (if you have 12 players, sure, take 2 goblins)
Leader on Thrower, Tackle or Strip Ball on a Blitzer -- all good.
Sure Feet on a goblin -- well I wouldnt take it -- you'll use it what, once in 2 or 3 games? Depending on when you get it you might not use it at all.
Some options for the 3rd skill:
Troll - Guard or Break Tackle
Black Orc - Guard or (because its unexpected on an Orc team) Frenzy
Lineorc - Kick
Blitzer - Tackle or Strip Ball (whatever the other one didnt take) - This way you have a better chance of getting the ball if (a) Its a Catcher type with Dodge or (b) a ball carrier you cant get 2 or even 1 dice on.
I am yet to try this last option myself, but will be doing it with Wights(Tackle on 1 & Strip Ball on the other) at the next tourney down here.

Thanks for you input, I just liked the idea of having no Lineorcs.
Yes, it's a ressurection tournie and I have 12 players.
Also, if I take only 1 Goblin and he gets squished (quite probable) I lose my 1 TTD chance and the psychological impact that brings.
I like the idea of frenzy on a BOB, but think I may take frenzy on a Blitzer playing safety instead to cover both touchlines and make them play inside.

ST4 & Frenzy, a match made in heaven.
On a ST3 player, you really have to be careful with that 2nd Block.
I've found chucking gobbos with the ball unrewarding in LRB5; without the ball is a different story. (Under LRB 4 I used to use Ripper, throw long & often used a re-roll on the Pass)
You are right that the possibilty of the one-turner plays on peoples minds - but not that much, especially if the other guy has played (or played against) such teams before.
I just ignore the possibilty, unless it is actually the last turn of the drive.
My fave move of alltime is to have the other guy fail a pickup after I've kicked to him, chuck the goblin, pick up the ball from under his nose, dodge out & score.
I've done that all of once in a tourney & about 3 times in leagues.
Damn, thinking about all this makes me want to take Orcs to the next tourney!

P.S. Note to self - Do not think about playing Orcs until you are on the freaking plane to the world cup, son.

hehe...I will take the exact same team to a tourney next weekend. I also like the idea of not playing with Linemen and I've already done it a couple of times. At the tourney there will be one skill before every game. No player can get two and six games to play. What would you take? And especialy in what order? How necessary is kick off return?
Because of the Troll I probably take leader on the Thrower early on. Tackle and Strip ball on two Blitzers, guard on two Blackorcs,...? Not sure.
...thanks!

We also get 6 random skills which may include doubles (no stat increases) to go along with the 3 chosen.
If I had to choose 6, like at the BB GT, I would go
Leader on Thrower (no-brainer)
Guard on Troll (makes him more useful and less likely to need to move)
I would then probably take Guard (or a mixture of Block/Guard) on the four BOB's.
5 high strength guys all with Guard will make our opponents brain bleed out of his ears! "I can't even get a one dice block, everything is 2 dice against!"

The 3 for me are tackle or frenzy on a blitzer and guard on two BOBs or one BOB and a troll.
Don't give gobbos skills - because they'll get killed anyway.

I had a tourney like this earlier. Took guard on two BoB's, block on two BoB's (used them in pairs, 1 guard - 1 block), MB on the blitzers. Didn't like the MB on the blitzers that well. Need to rethink that.

I´d take Frenzy or Tackle on a Blitzer, Guard on a Blitzer and Block on a BOB.

After a game yesterday I thought of the following skill choice for the tournament:
before 1st game: Guard on Troll
2nd game: Block on Thrower
3rd game: Guard on Blackork
4th game: Guard on Blackork
5th game: Tackle on Blitzer
6th game: Block on Blackork
If I go against a team with a lot of dodgers early on, Tackle will be given earlier (we know the team we're facing before we choose the skill). If I never face Skaven/Amazone/Woodies/etc Tackle for the Blitzer is replaced with another Block on a Blackork.
I am realy tempted to give Block to the Thrower, he is a centerpiece in my game and would help me as another decent blocker. And I only have one so I would kind of like him to survive. Yesterday I played him with Teamleader, another ReRoll is always cool but I dont think it made that big of a difference.
what do you think?
