Chaos or Ogre team for Leaque?

Post by Omalley69 »

I cant realy deside wether to play a Chaos (bashy-claws development) or an all for the fun Ogre team. I like to be ultra bashy, and evil (that part actually comes first, fun is second and winning is third ;) ).

I will be facing:
(3 players that i know for sure will attent in the leaque)

1: woodelfs (cowardly) or Norse (bashy)
2: darkelfs or dwarfs (a rather cheaty/cunning player)
3: necromantics or chaos dwarfs

Maybe
(some dudes that might play a couple of matches)

4: necromantics
5: humans
6: highelfs

I got the models for both an Ogre team and a Chaos team. But i cant realy deside. Ive never played a chaos team that much. Ive allways felt that they were to slow with the skill income, and lost patiance.
The ogre team on the other hand, is more of a "its all about the fun" team, and can still beat the **** out of the other teams. Its just not that competitive, and will never win the leaque.
ps. its a very long term leaque.

Im in doubt, input plz.

I'd say play the chaos team. If it's going to be a very long league you'll be bored with your second choice fun team after a while, and probably maxed out on all players as well (6 ogres and 10 snots). I guess the chaos team just has a bit more potential in the long run and will be interesting for longer.

Also, you can be extra evil and dirty on your opponents ;)

Last time i started a Chaos team i lost the first match, got a -1S on a beast and only 5 spp (mvp)...pretty lame...

But i guess so. Ogre teams dosnt realy advance that much, unless you roll alot of doubles.

The fun and evil part about the ogre team is that you dont realy care about the snotlings, and throw them at cages, and foul as much as possible.

If you really don't care about winning, definitely Ogres.

If you want to bash some heads, break some armour and leave a trail of mutilated bodies in your wake as you mutate claws onto every player on your team, definitely Chaos.

If it were up to me, I'd pick Chaos. I've been on the receiving end of Chaos bashy-bashy many times and I know what they're capable of.

I dont care, as long as the game is fun. But the idear of actually ending the leaque because theres no teams left :P chould be so great. And the lack of advancement on the ogre teams isnt that apealing after all, bearing in mind that its a very long term leaque.

I actually think it´ll be in the name of CHAOS!

So going block on everybody as skill nr 1, and make 2 beasts into surehands/ball carriers/ball handlers?

and what about the start Cockerel?

4 CW
7 beasts
3 RR
...?

Horns means reliable 2dBlocks
Wrestle kills Block
Tackle Kills Dodge

So no mater what skills you have I have a Huge Percentage of putting you on your but!

Frenzy and 2 heads as the next few skills... (So you can have 2nd crack on that off chance your first failed & increase your mobility to get better blitzes)

Juggernaught if you run a long enough season(s)

Take two of these guys and your team will have fearsome defence! Allowing your Warriors to show the power of offence!

I'm a big fan of building one Warrior as a sort of runner

Block, Frenzy, Two heads, Juggernaught....

They have AG3 to pick up/catch the ball... Best ST4 guys in the game!!! Build one guy who uses that advantage rather than the 2d block advantage...

Build two as support/controle: Block, Guard, Grab (then whatever you like)

Build the last as a killer: Block, Mighty Blow, Claws, Pile On, Frenzy.

Bild at least one beast the same as the killer...

But don't get carried away with causing casualties... Win the game and the high casualties will come as a natural side affect of the team strengths... There is no need to chase something that follows in your wake!

Too many chaos teams fall on their arse because they forget its a foot ball game

Claws is the best mutation in the game but it's wasted in a league of elves and/or Norse.

I would give 3 beastmen extra arms. One to pick up the ball and the other two should be used to receive hand offs. Scoring is tough with Chaos. You have to develop your scoring threats.

I agree. The second guy with Extra Arms should also get Big Hand, or NoS on doubles.

Strong arm wouldn't be a bad choice on a beastman with extra arms either (once you develop a receiving corp).

Apoth. You have to grind, and you're mostly AV8 with no Block. Don't worry about rookie BM losses; your money will pan out in the end and Journeymen provide assists just fine. Use your Apothecary automatically on CWs or skilled guys no matter what kind of cas they take, but don't necessarily save it for them. Early in the season, if a rookie BM is Badly Hurt in the first half and it puts you down by more than one guy, you might want to Apothecary it; not being outnumbered early will tend to save you more casualties than an Apothecary saved for later.
