Purple Bluebirds - need to fire someone?

Post by The Ref »

Hi there all experienced humie coaches.

My team is the most valued one in our league, and it gives my opponents inducements - making it harder for me to keep em knocked out etc..

Please take a look at my ROSTER and give me your opinions about wether or not I need to fire/retire anyone..

GROUP ALPHA NORTH contains the teams I'm playing against.
I'm not scheduled to meet ALPHA SOUTH teams, but a crossover match could occur. In addition the team winning the SC playoffs play against the winner of the NC playoffs in the AnBBL Champions' Final.

Need I retire one of my trusted players?

I'd fire a gimp. You don't need 16 guys. You don't even need 15. Either the -AG guy (he does have Block, so he can pull his weight) or the -2AV guy, in which case the -AG guy should get Kick next.

I agree that you could probably do with two players less. Get kick somewhere else and ditch the AV6 guy. The AG2 guy looks like the other one that can go. Furthermore consider dropping a reroll, haven't looked at the rest of your division, but FF 11 and your sideline staff should get you some rerolls during the matches.

You can get rid of the -1 MV Catcher as well. I agree he is a threat, but he will also lower your TV enormeously. A new Catcher will get skills soon, and the other 3 guys are a threat as well. Btw, I recommend taking some Strip Ball or Dauntless on those. Helps you greatly on offense!

Oh, yea, and I agree that the first skill roll on an Lino should be Kick.

Cheers!

consider getting kick on a catcher. Kick linos tend to be useful once the kickoff has been done. A block lino can actually be useful. A kick catcher will get other skills quickly and is still useful. Not conventional but works for me.

Hmmmm... what to fire, what to fire?

I'd get rid of Catcher Balldur Fetcher -- you already have three(!) other catchers, losing one won't be a huge detriment -- and Lineman Gotnof Use (catchy name). That should save you TV without horribly crippling your chances in the league.

Oh, I didn't see that you had four Catchers. Fire one Catcher and one Lino. That -MA Catcher, for all his cool skills, is costing you a grip.

DON'T kick your MA7 catcher. Soon he will get his next skill and if that ain't a good roll (ST, AG, Double) you kick him.

Fire one of the 2 lowest catchers and the AG2 lineman. They just sit the bench anyway. You can't fire a catcher that has 17 TDs!!

Oh yes you can! You should too if he's costing you TV that you can't realize or are hesitant to play.

Agree with Snew. If he had some skills that where rare on catchers, or ST/AV/AG increases, you could argue there was a case for keeping him, but with GE/AG-only skills, just cut him and build another catcher the same way, hopefully without the -1MA.
For the same reason, I'd also consider cutting the two gimped linemen.

I agree with Stashman. One increase. No double rolls or Stat increases? Then give him the boot.

Cheers!

My two cents: fire the -2AV guy, and would wait to see how it goes with the catcher too .

Have you decided who to fire yet?

i should do something like this too...

but my chaos team only has 11 guys, and i'm routinely giving about 300k in inducements to the other teams.

my team value is a whopping 1600 ish. if i had my roster here, i'd start a thread.

so the question on my end would have to be, which guys would be able to be re-hired, i'll take a look tonight i guess.
