Re: Starting an High Elf Team

Post by howlett »

Today our local league starts and i will have a match-up against a chaos-dwarf team. I have a bad feeling that 2 re-rolls could be too few for the league. Otherwise i prefere roster B.

The reason i run this poll is that i need some psychological support for my low self-esteem :D

Here is the schedule:
  • 1. chaos dwarf
    2. high elf (the team name was "Snobs All-Star Warriors" i read "Snots...")
    3. khemri ("Nehekhara Necropotence" )
    4. woodelves ("Amazonas Giants" )
    5. lizardmen
    6. necromantic ("The playing Flesh" - i was unsure if this is undead or necro)
    7. human ("Die Freibeuter = The buccaneers" )
    8. vampire
    9. nurgle rotters
    10. dwarf
Choose quick and wisely ;) (Poll ends in a few hours)

my preference:

2 Blitzers, 9 Lineelves, 3 RR

I won´t start with a thrower.

Both your Blitzers and Catchers are great. 2 of each keeps you off a RR, and that's a terrible shame and all, but you should do it anyway.

Yeah, but having two guys with Catch and two with Block will on average save you a re-roll per half anyway, so the extra mobility is effectively free.

Going with 2 catchers and a thrower defnitely makes up for the loss of 1 RR.

To me, the strength of HE is in the ST3 catchers and a Thrower with Safe Throw. Safe Throw is not a skill most people choose, but I love that the HE Thrower comes with it! You can take a lot more risks throwing with Safe Throw which really opens the play book.

To start the team without the Catchers and Thrower seams very wasteful. You need the speed of the catchers and the accuracy of the thrower to make the team as effective as it could be.

I don't get what you are saying or who you are quoting. :?:

Are you saying we discuss elves too much? There ARE 4 elf teams. It's bound to happen.

Don't you like elves?
Perhaps in Living Rulebook 6 there is an other elf team that might fit to you:

wolfelves.

:P

my match yesterday was nice. In summary:
- i won 1-0
- made two cas (one dead hobgobbo (inflicted by a catcher ;)
- recieved only 2 badly hurts
- got 60k (bought an apo)

My opponent and me rolled many double-skulls and ones (both re-rolls were gone in Turn2 each half (same for my buddy). I really missed another re-roll!). Result of the foozling was a very quick match. The other coach has deserved a tie, but in the end i was the luckier one and managed to defend the 1-0.
* * * Did you know:
As i said it before, it was the first day of our league and we managed to play all together. There were some coaches i didn't know before and one of them was Owe. He is a very funny guy. Beside the match report sheet, he writes a personal match-diary for his matches. When one of his rats were blocked repeatedly and didn't get knocked prone, then he takes the note:
"+ Turn 4: Rat A resists."
Another example:
"- Turn 7: Rat C fails."
He lost his match. And i am interested, if he will give his rats a tongue-lashing ;)
To you, reading these sentences:
Have a nice day/evening/night/morning/whatever.

Everybody knows that the Elves are the masters of BB. They should be discussed more than any other race, it's just natural.
