Finals of my league coming up.

We've reached the finals of my league, and I'll be playing the orc team with my dwarfs in the semis.
My team's notable players:
Trollslayer: Mighty blow, guard, pro.
Blitzer: Mighty blow.
Blitzer: Guard.
Runner: Block, dodge.
Runner: Block, N.O.S, Pass.
Blocker: Guard.
I have just purchased a deathroller. My opponent has basically, a full roster, a whole lot of orcs with mighty blow. I'll be getting 240k in inducements, plus I have 130k I can transfer to petty cash.
I need some advice as to what to take with my inducements. I've already got an apothecary on staff, and bloodweiser babes are not really that good for dwarfs. I was thinking that grim ironjaw might be a good choice, giving me another player with higher than average strength, plus another dauntless player to handle his 4 black orcs, and his troll. I'm not big on fouling, I'm yet to throw one in 10 games.
Any advice appreciated.

I like to pick the rarely-picked inducements.. so feel free to ignore these
What's the orcs' playbook? With lots of MB, I'd imagine that he grabs the ball and hangs back, but if he forms a cage and moves forward, then a wiz with fireball is a good cagebreaker.
One thing you're missing that might be vital in a final is Strip Ball. Unfortunately you've no runner slots available, but you do have an available slayer slot: a merc trollslayer with strip ball is cheaper than Grim. -1ST -MB +Strip Ball.. I dunno. Plus, he's still too expensive to work with a fireball

why not take a bribe to keep the deathroller on the field longer. You can field it at the beginning of both halves! It's like getting a GREAT star player for half the game for only 100,000! Who wouldn't pay that?!
How many players do you have?

Orc throwers have surehands therefore stripball is less effective against this team.

It's true, Strip Ball isn't going to be effective against the entire orc team. Probably won't help much against the troll, seeing as it probably won't get the ball too often

But SB will help, and it introduces an option that you don't currently have. Even Grim doesn't give you that.
Good point about the bribe, wish I'd thought of it. That's my new favourite inducement.

The bribe is top of the list right now. He does actually tend to pay a passing, running type game with his blitzers.
I have one extra blocker, and the deathroller, for a total number of 13 players on the team.
I thought I could only take a merc if there was space on the roster, and I have my full count of trollslayers.

Just remember that if you transfer gold from your treasury to petty cash, you reduce the inducement proportionally.
HINT: Do not transfer gold to petty cash

Eh, the rulebook says you don't get inducements in finals.

I says semi finals & the final.
But yes, that needs remembering in this case.

Good points, all.
But assuming you
do get 240k worth of inducements, I'd say get a ref bribe (no-brainer with a Deathroller) and two draws from the Magic Items special plays deck. There's nothing like the Ring of Teleportation for confounding the enemy, assuming you're lucky enough to draw it.

This, of course, can be ignored should his league commissioner feel the need to do so.

You can get inducements, it's just you can't get Stars or Mercs, but can everything else (p39 of the rules).
So, out of the remainder, the wizard is good value, less so if he doesn't cage, but you can't (quite!) afford a bribe and wizard.
If he has a lot of MB, a BB Babe might be worth it cos your guys will be KO'd on 8s now rather than just 9s.
Hard call, but with a Deathroller, a bribe would be worth it. Maybe even 2-there's nothing more annoying than having to play a SW for a turn cos of the rule of 11, just to get them sent off...

Oh no, I'm wrong-further down it says that teams don't receive inducement gold during semi's and finals.
It is weird though, as before it definitely implies that you can get inducement gold, just can't hire extra players with it .And it says later to remember that you don't get inducement gold (how can you remember something if you haven't been told of it?)
On MBBL you do get inducement gold, just can't spend it on players and as that is the LRB test league, i'd have thought that that is what Galak intended?

Actually there is a thread on the under Rules Queries saying that you can get inducements, but can't spend it on Stars or Mercs, it was a typo that got through the proofreading-as said by Galak himself.

Correct.
