+1 Agility for human ogres 1st skill?
Just got my 1st skill (after 6 games) with my hopeless ogre and rolled an agility upgrade.
Should i take it?

No, even it is nice to have Ogre with AG3 let him play the roel which suits him best - anchor your defense and smash some heads on LOS.
Even if you dont like ordinary basher Ogre think how many times you will use this AG 3? You dont want to dodge with him for sure so you can only use this for passing or catching. But how desperate you should be to even try to pass or catch with Ogre...
I would choose guard or grab instead.

Mmm, probably not worth it, a ST5 ball carrier would be nice, but I can't see how he'd be that useful-against bash sides, you'll not want him stuck in a cage and against AG sides, they're likely to have cage breakers (players with leap/v high AG, stripball and wrestle/block) which even if they get a 2d against, are still likely to free the ball.
And as it's been said, break tackle is better for dodging that AG3 (although it can only be used once per turn).

The smart answer: no.
The fun answer: yes.
+AG on an Ogre would see use: you'd definitely feel the upgrade, as you'd be able to score with him and he'd improve faster. However, I can think of S skills that would be more useful still. Were it not for Loner or Bonehead, I'd be a little more positive on that +AG. Without either, it'd be great. But as is, not so much.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

To be fair, most people are saying it's a fun choice, but not the best one for winning. we're letting Blinky decide what is best for himself!stashman wrote:Well again: Evertbody complains about dwarf and their boring gurad. many wanted coaches to play diffrent with dwarfs, the same coaches always tell you take the safeskills.
We are all the same, winning is prior ONE!
Take AG3!

I'll disagree here. (Yay!) My 2nd team is human, my 2nd best scorer on that team is my AG3 ogre. I don't give him the ball when I'm losing, or when it's close to the end of the half, but when I want to defend the ball, and maybe score.. awesome. Also, he gets it on touchbacks (so long as I have time left to score), and the occasional lucky bounce.
AG3 allows me to rejig a few skill choices. Jump Up is now on my wishlist (free block! free block!.. but yea, I need three doubles). Pro, everyone's 2nd favourite doubles skill for boneheads, is now MUCH more useful. I'm almost considering replacing Pro with Dodge.. arg, there's so much an AG3 ogre can do!
He frees up a lot of my players when he has the ball. Catchers need at least two defenders when moving forward, Smush is safe with a single lineman helping out. And with a catcher 6 squares away, a hand-off is just sooo tempting.
Also, I like forming a cage with the ogre in the middle. It's just poetic.

If it was an Ogre team, I'd say yes straight away.
But seeing it's on a human team, it's gotta be a no for me. The Ogre isn't going to get enough use of the extra AG to be worth the TV increase, not with Catchers and Blitzers also in the frame for the ball.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I think Ogres really help a human side if all they do is sit on the line and assist/guard assist/ frighten opponents.datalorex wrote:Anyone who takes Ogres values fun over winning by definition! So we are suggesting what is most fun while also being useful.
I had one Ogre with Diving Tackle and Guard. I loved him! He often changed entire strategies for other teams, despite rarely doing anything of value himself
