so we just started a little league here and i am playing orcs.
the league consists of

skaven w/ rat ogre
skaven w/o rat ogre
lizard men
dwarfs w/ deathroller
amazons
orcs (me)
orcs / chaos (don't know yet)
??? (maybe wood elfs, maybe the player gets kicked out because he never appears)

my first game was against the lizzies and i won 2:1
atm my team looks like

2RR, 9FF, 50k cash

not sure if i should take tackle, mighty blow or guard for the blitzer.
and i don't know if i should go for more blitzers or the troll...

In that league: TACKLE (bring down the gutter runners and a whole dodging amazon team).

Get Blitzers first then a troll. When you have 4 blitzers and you get serious or dead linerocs don't save them.

What made you take the FF9? With mention of the Deathroller, you must be playing LRB 5.

But anyway, I would think Tackle is good value. Either that or MB. Guard doesn't seem a priority as with 4 black orcs you are already the strongest team in the league, and have played the second strongest already (Lizzies). Depends how long the league is. Short and you'll probably want Tackle asap. Long and MB will reap dividends and you can take Tackle next.

For this season: Tackle on the Blitzer, then hire more Blitzers.

For future seasons: the Orc Lineman is a trap! They're a good deal, sure, but they don't really give you a great player, and player quality is the difference-maker. ALWAYS start 4 Blitzers, and ignore Fan Factor. You're Orcs. FF doesn't matter. Money is no help if you start with everything, and kick-off events really don't matter much.

Echoing what others said, tackle. With all that dodge, you'll get lots of mileage out of it, and will help getting more CAS to skill the blitzer up again.

You do need the 4 blitzers. Buy them before the Troll.

I would get 2-3 blitzers with Tackle as their first skill. Then Mighty Blow and some Guard. I really like Guard on the BoBs and Troll. They provide the assists to the blitzers, so that they can use their Tackle and MB.

yes, we play LRB5
i can't remember what made me go for FF9
every team will play each other team twice, then play offs for the mithril spike i think... not sure tho. that would mke at least 14 games to play an then the team goes on to the next season.
