Ugroth Bolgrot and Bomber Dribblesnot

My Orc team has some upcoming games against Khemri, Lizardmen and a Necromantic Team.
My team is 1 Troll, 4 Linemen, 1 Thrower, 3 Gobbos, 2 Black Orcs and 2 Blitzers. None of my players has any additional skills yet but a few are quite close. I also have an Apothecary.
I am likely to have as much as 200k in inducements against the six Saurus Lizardmen. I need some cage breaking tools against the Khemri and Lizardmen and something to take on a skilled up Necromantic Werewolf and Flesh Golem.
I was thinking of inducing Ugroth or Bomber, both are fairly cheap and I could afford a Bribe or even two with the 70k in my treasury. I don't really want to spend my treasury though as I'm close to buying another Blitzer.
What do other coaches think about Ugroth with his chainsaw or Dribblesnot with his bombs?

Say it over and over with me, "BOMBS ARE A WASH!" (rinse & repeat...)
Seriously, with the inability to move to position AND throw (remember that stunties are -1 in addition to all other modifiers), the bombing comes down to luck.... In the 6 times I've used a bomber, the best I did was to knock down ONE opponent... 3 times he bombed himself (errant throw or fumble); once was errant to no effect; and once he bombed the crowd! This guy is an accident waiting to happen....
In total contrast is Ulgroth.... He is the MOST LIKELY to survive, Chainsaw player (9 armor).... No more need be said....
If you can afford Ulgroth and a bribe... it would be a decent consideration....

Thanks for that, you've helped me make up my mind.
Dribblesnot does seem too random (although other coaches may disagree). At least with Ugroth, I'll have a little more control.
I'll try and keep him from being blitzed and use him to foul as many times as I can before he's sent off. If I can afford the bribe as well then so much the better.
Are there any better uses for him?

First off keep in mind that the transfer of money from the Treasury to Petty Cash happens before the inducements are figured, meaning that if you add the 70K from your treasury, you are going to be getting 70K less in inducements!
The thing to note with the Khemri and Lizardmen teams is they have a lot of players with AV7. That is something to consider. A chainsaw, a mercenary blitzer with Mighty Blow, either might do the trick. Remember too that you could also take Nobbla Blackwart as a chainsaw alternative. While he does come out a little more expensive, he does have better movement and both Bock and Dodge.
Buying those remaining positional players is crucial. I am torn though whether to advise you to go with blitzers or black orcs first. Black orcs would give you much needed strength, but the blitzers have speed, agility and the block skill.
Given that you are going to be outmuscled by almost any of those other teams even if you have all four black orcs, I would probably lean towards the blitzers, and try to capatlize on the block skill.
Let us know how it goes!

I've just checked LRB5 and unfortunately Nobbla Blackwart is not available to the Orcs.
Earlier today I played a practice game against my Khemri opponent and those Mummies do pack a punch. I am now very concerned as to how to handle them.
In the league game, I shall have to try and avoid them like the plague.

Yeah, mummies are a real pain, but their really slow and easy to avoid.

yeah... in the future, always ALWAYS ALWAYS invest heavily in BOBs and Blitzers out the gate. Linos aren't bad, but the others are all actively good.

Huh..... maybe I was thinking of an older edition. Maybe now because they have Ulgrot, they decided that two chainsaws would be too much for one team!

Try not to resist the temptation to focus too much on the mummies. Even with a Black Orc (which you are short in) you will need a couple of assists to get the two dice.
My advice would be to feed them lineorcs, while the rest of your team makes plays for the ball and tries to kick the bejeezus out of the AV7 skellies. Keep the lineorcs in their TZs, or at least in their path, so they cannot add their clout to the main action.
Aside from that just pray that your armour holds out, and that your apothecary did more than look at the pictures in his medical books!

Posted most of my advice on SG but I'd like to add my vote to the don't take bombs voice.

I have to agree with no bombs.
The only reason I'm converting one is so my goblin team will *look* complete.

Bomber on the Goblin team is loads of fun, but can really screw-up whatever plans you were attempting with the said Gobbos (assuming you had a plan

). The on-roster Bomber, where you can use a TRR if he fumbles the bomb, is not as bad as the star. But the other on-roster secret weapons are much better IMO.
But on an Orc team, Ugroth all the way. And if you can get a bribe on top of Ugroth, great.
Remember that you have to protect him. Any time he is left alone, he will get blitzed. Even AV9 won't save him forever.
I prefer using Ugroth for fouling, especially with a bribe. Whoever gets man-advantage in this game will likely be the winner. If a Mummy gets on the ground, foul him. Any other player hits the ground, foul him. Foul with the chainsaw every turn that you can where you don't leave him open for a blitz. Even if you use the Bribe, continue to foul. He's getting kicked-out after the drive anyways, so foul.
Have fun.
