Nurgle team inducements...

Post by Axtklinge »

I have a game (later today) with my Nurgle team against a quite pumped human team (I have 600 to spend on inducements).

My team has:
4 Nurgle Warriors (one has block)
3 Pestigors (1 Sure Hands, 1 Block)
5 or 6 Rotters (no "extra" skills on them)
2 Rerolls

So to spend those 600, I was thinking about taking 2 rerolls, maybe 2 BBabes (50 each), and a Star player (Lord Borak -270).

Any wild suggestions?

Cheers

I'd take a Beast with Guard 220k), Max Spleenripper (100k), another RR (100k) and a Wizard(150k).

Ripper, Borak and a Babe for me.

A large number of High ST guys is really tricky for most teams, and humans (without large amounts of Dauntless) will struggle.

Babe useful as a lot of your players have Regen.

Word, Ripper and Borak are the best one two punch of star players in the entire game.

Oh I forgot, no Wizards allowed in the league.

Edit: I dont know about Max (rumbles, rumbles)... I like the idea of a chainsaw in the field, and even converted/painted one to play , but the stupid mini must be cursed as it never lasted more than two turns in the field.
Even when I let someone use it either ko'd or kills him self...

Definitely Ripper. I mean how can you put a price on a S6 troll who never goes stupid? It's just so beautiful!

But you did not mention what the other team was - that may also affect the choice of inducements.

But irregardless - take Ripper when possible!

Agree with all...
Taking 2 of the high strength SP's can make your team REALLY hard to deal with.....But my vote is cards !!! Common...Lewd maneuvers cracks me up every time !!! 8)

Thank you all for your input!

I went for Lord Borak, a couple of re-rolls (I just had 2 and wasnt too confortable about it), and the babes.
I would go for both stars but I realy didnt feel confortable with just 2 re-rolls...

Maybe it was a bad choice as I ended up loosing the game 2-1.

It was quite hard as I antecipated, as the other player is a good player and his team has a lot more games than mine.
Anyway for a short report, he atacked first, and menaged to open two holes in my line: one in one flank (with two blitzers: block, guard,+Ag and other with block, guard, dodge) and other in the middle with an ogre.
From those holes two catchers dodge in and by turn three or four he was winning 1-0.
Not too bad I though, if only I menaged to score this turn...

And I almost did in the last one, with one blitz_out of the "tackle box" (the tackle zones around my "box"), but he menaged to place two players tackling my receiver I didnt make the much needed 5+ roll...

On the second part I received the ball.
I started by beating them up, but by the time I needed to pick up the ball, the "sure handed" pestigor decided to do something else, and it was turn over. Not even with re-roll...
I dont realy remember too well what happend the next two turns (denial) but by turn three (second half) I was loosing by 2-0 (Damned "Jump Up Blodger" Catchers...).
By then it was probably lost, still I've played as if it wasnt, and I scored by turn 7.
The kick-off table wasnt that nice to me (..how I needed 2 or 3 more turns to turn things...) and the game ended soon after.
At least I won the Cas (2-1)...

I have never used him before in my Caos/Nurgle teams so I wasnt quite sure on what his role should be.
First half I started with him two squares behind the Line of Scrimmage, planning to use his dirty player on the adversarys my Nurgle warriors would knock down, and I did a couple of time without much success.

On the second half (already loosing 0-1), I've changed him into a more offensive blitzer (by then I had 1 Nurgle injured, so I could use his muscle), and that's were I've found him to have better results (thats were he made his Cas), and punched a few holes, helping to build and defend the cage that resulted in my TD.

A.

Second use for him is the one you should go for everytime. Dirty Player isn't worth using on him except for late in the second half during a hard core grudge match.

You take him and just use him as a mobile, reliable big guy. Go smash in the biggest target on the opposing team and keep hitting it till it leaves the pitch. Or use him to spearhead a grind by breaking through where it's weakest.

Combined with Ripper + Warriors (pref with Guard) you have a front that's obscenely reliable and hard to break through. Remember Ripper needs 1 assist to hit ST7 and Borak 2 assists.

Well I wasnt pleased with the loss (obviously), but it was this team 3rd game, against a very capable opponent, with a very good human team so I guess it wasnt all that bad.
It was an 1/2 finals Caos Cup game and I got that bitter taste that I could have gone to the finals, but thats how it is.
Later this week I'll have a "consolation final" against the other 1/2 final defeated team (Undead) wich has a team rating similar to mine so no inducements this time.

Edit: By the way, the final game will be between Humans and Amazons both with the same team ratings.

Ok...
A couple of games later I have this:

2 Nurgle Warrior (both with block)
2 Nurgle Warrior (no skills)- and rolled doubles for both.

3 pestigor (1 sure hands, 1 block)
6 rotters

2 rerolls
3 FFactor
1 Apo

160.000 gold

Soo, the question is, should I go "Block" or "Claw" for both NWarriors?
Or else, what?

I'm about to buy another re-roll, and wait a bit for the beast.
Anyone has a different opinion?

(Note: We use to play a "perpetual league" so this team will go on to the league that will start in 2 weeks.)

Cheers

Consider Jump Up, Dodge, Sidestep, or Leader for one or both of your Nurgle Warriors - you don't need doubles to take mutations. Jump Up lets you build a Claw/Piling On Warrior who will attract a huge amount of hate from your opponents, which should open up more scoring opportunities for your Pestigors. Dodge or Sidestep are great skills for a blocker, because they help tie up opponents even more.

Leader is a cheaper way to get a reroll if you really want to get that Beast of Nurgle a bit earlier.

That said, you won't go wrong if you put Claw on both Warriors and buy another reroll.
