Chaos Dwarf roster - newbye help

Hello, I'm a rookie of bloodbowl who played one league with a Dwarf team.
Now we're starting a new League of six teams, and I would like to change with the dark side of the dwarf: Chaos Dwarf.
I know nothing about them, so I really need your help to play as bettere as possible this team.
This is my roster:
5 Chaos Dwarf Blocker
4 Hobbyz
2 Bull Centaurs
3 rerolls
20000 to save or 2 ff
Any suggiestion will be really appreciate.

Looks about right. I think that's what I started with as well. I think you can switch a reroll for the 6th dwarf from the start, if you like.
Get Break Tackle and Block on the bulls first, Guard / Mighty Blow on the dwarves (Claw if you get doubles) and some ball handling skills on some hobgoblins. Kick on a hobgob is also a good idea.
Try to score with the bulls in the beginning and get them a skill or two as fast as you can. By the time they have Block and Break Tackle, you should be looking to skill up some hobgoblins as well. Actually, as I think about it, take Break Tackle first on the bulls, as they're too valuable to you to be tied down with a cheap mark.
That's all I can think of right now.

Yep, what he said. Break Tackle is the absolute key as first skill. Without it a BC is really just a 130K Black Orc. Risk the 4+ pickups early in development to get the Bulls that much needed SPPs.

I went Block first on one and Break Tackle first on the other with my squad. But I wouldn't discount the idea of Break Tackle first on both.
I would also toy with Mighty Blow first on one of them- it makes a big difference. However, Break Tackle still needs to come first on the other one.

I used to do that too. But 16 SPPs is a long way to go, and I feel cheated without BT. Its been so long since I had to worry about that though (my Bulls are on their 4th and 5th skills).

I did the same thing and I regretted it. The Block bull was almost always in a better position to make a play on the ball carrier, but was unable to do so reliably due to being marked and not having BT.

I agree. A block break tackle bull is a must.
Right now, my second bull is a frenzy, juggernaught experiment. It seems to work fairly well.

I have only played CD in a couple of matches but my start roster was.
6 CDs
1 BC
4 HG
3 RR
3 FF
1 A.
Tried a match with 2 BC but they just fumbled my plays due to lack of block. But that could of course be dicerelated.

Thanks a lot guys for your suggestions. I am thinking about to change 1 reroll for 1 more blocker, but I don't know if two RR for a starting CD team are enough.
Another possibility is to quit one bull for one more blocker and reroll. Something like
1 bullcentaur
6 CD Blockers
4 Hobgoblins
4 RR
10k saved

I think two BC are a must. I think the re-rolls are also a must. I have 4 now, and I still need them all by the end of the half. Mainly since my one Hobgoblin with sure hands has a hard time picking up the ball.
As mentioned before, Block and Break Tackle are key to a BC success. They will drive opponents nuts if they can't contain them. although on of my two does has Juggernaut and Frenzy, and he is also fun to run around with.

At 130k or 140k (after creation) re-rolls and Bull Centaurs will be your main purchases for this team as it develops.
I recommend getting both Bulls and at least 3 re-rolls. This leaves you short on blockers, but I wouldn't worry about it for 2 reasons:
1) 70k is easier to get than 130k.
2) Blockers have Block and Tackle, making them ideal mercenaries (throw guard on them... or not)
The only problem? Your Blockers don't skill up very fast, and are critical to the team.
I would start with one of the following two rosters:
Roster 1
2 Bulls 260k
4 Blockers 280k
5 Hobgoblins 200k
3 Re-rolls 210k
50k towards Blocker #5, or an apoth...
Roster 2
2 Bulls 260k
5 Blockers 350k
4 Hobgoblins 160k
3 Re-rolls 210k
20k towards a hobgoblin or an apothecary.
Personally, I'd go with Roster 2 in a rookie league, and roster 1 in a developed league I was coming into. If the developed league was bashy, I'd start with the apoth. Otherwise, I'd save the 50k for my 5th Dwarf.
By the way, be careful picking up too many star players or mercenaries... all it takes is one or two games with the MVP falling on a star and it really feels like you are playing from behind!
I recommend using your inducements wisely, usually Morg, Hthark, or Grashnak are worth more than a bunch of lower valued stars or mercs.
Chaos Dwarves are rumored to be a power house, but both Falconeyed and I started slow with them. I really don;t think they come into their own until about 10-15 games into their career, in which case I think they are easily one of the top 5 squads (Since you asked, After 15 games I think Wood Elves, Dwarves, Nurgle, Chaos Dwarves. and Orcs are the top sides.)

Jural knows stuff.
Once I got a couple of CDs with guard and a couple with Claw, things really started happening for me. I was able to avoid a lot of hobgob turn over, although I did have to replace a 26 SPP bull on a blown dodge. I may have to bring Some Kind of Monsters back next season, as I really want to see what kind of mayhem a couple of Claw / Mighty Blow CDs can cause. I was at my most successful when I was able to use the CDs to basically run interference long enough for my BCs to make a play on the ball carrier or on the big threats to my own ball carrier.
As for the suggested one BC starting roster, I'd caution against this. A smart opponent will basically sacrifice their first drive to foul out that lone BC and then you'll be in serious trouble the rest of the match. The only bigger target than a prone BC is a prone Wardancer. The Bull Centaurs, like Wardancers, are the heart and soul of a CD side. Depending on what side of the Atlantic you're on, they're the John Terry or the Ray Lewis of your team. If you're going to start without two, you might as well not play Chaos Dwarves.

My Chaos Dwarves will be coming back next season as well. I only got my third Chaos Dwarf to skill up in my final game... having one guard guy and one +STR dwarf just wasn't cutting it.
I'd like to play them now that they got past their growing pains...
