First skill double on a Skaven Blitzer

Skaven Blitzer rolls doubles first up. So what should I take? Team can be seen here.

In the same game Blitzer #2 gained Mighty Blow (I want to keep his development ticking over, and give myself some options to deal damage rather than just take it). Runner #5 also gained Dauntless.

I don't rate Claw as a first skill without already having MB, PO or both. Since the other Blitzer is going to develop for hurtingness, I could do something else with the doubles guy. Horns seems valuable on a guy who will be Blitzing a lot. Dodge obviously valuable but a bit dull. :) Jump Up might have some value.

Cheers
Joe :D

Horns is pretty good on a storm vermin. Dodge is probably better though. Or sidestep.

Dodge every day of the week. Keeps him alive while your Gutter Runners win the match. And it makes him more mobile in those rare situations when you actually need him.

Dodge. Then get him Stand Firm, and he'll be very good at screening off the GRs and holding TZs on the ball. Plus he'll make a very solid corner, and once he gets Guard, nose tackle.

Side Step (but I guess you to took Dodge).

Dodge is good, but when facing skaven the opponent will have some tacklers and then the dodge is worthless. Dodge is awesome in the begining, but later on it won't help much, unless facing stunty and ogre teams

Thanks guys, I took Dodge in the end. Side Step is a great skill normally, but in PBeM it not much better than Stand Firm (a normal skill for blitzers) as the computer chooses a square for you. :)

Eek. That makes it worthless. I pity any PE coaches in those rules.

Too late now...

But I usually ignore doubles for my blitzers. Guard and Mighty Blow are just too important for this squad. On a third (or further) advance, or on a developed team with 3+ Guard Linerats, I would probably go Claw.

I also always turn down +MA on blitzers, and have turned down +AG as well. I will take +AV as a second skill, but not a first.

I try to build my 0-2 slots into reliable mirrors of each other filling the same roll, throwers and Undead players being the exception

Dodge is never worthless just because the other team "has some tacklers" ^^

Might not be as usefull as other skills, but dodge can even be usefull against dwarves.

Not every player on the other team has tackle, and in a big brawl (lets say you are breaking a cage with your skavens) you make sure that other players mark the tacklers, not the dodge one. Also, they have one blitz pr. round, and if they want to blitz your blitzer with tackle, well let them, that means they dont blitz a gutterrunner with av 7 and str 2.
