Wood Elves TV 110 tournament, 12 players or apo?

(hope it´s OK to start a new thread about Woodies, read through the older one, it was quite useful)
I´m wondering if it´s better to get 12 players or 11 players and an Apo for a TV 110 resurrection tourney with Wood Elves. I tend to favor this setup:
2 x Wardancer
2 x Catcher
Thrower
7 x Lineman
2 x RR
You get one skill before each game (six games total) and you know your opponent´s race before you choose it. I will pick Leader, Strip Ball, Frenzy or Tackle, maybe Kick and Wrestle).
I like having 12 players, an Apo doens´t help you everytime and not against KO´s. Then again it can save the expensive players so I´m a litte undecided. The set-up with the Apo also brings the advantage of having three catchers.
So how would you do it?

You're better off with more catchers and rerolls then 12 players or an apo. Catchers are absolutely vital, taking 3 is ok (though I prefer 4) but 2 really isn't enough.
IMO you don't need 12 players... If you're really worried about getting smacked off the pitch then I would take a treeman instead. A 12th player is 70k sitting on the bench doing nothing.

Treeman is a nice option, too. I only fear he´ll take root on defense and a bashy team ignores him when they grind their cage down the field. Treeman with Guard sounds good, though, for protection.
I thought Woodies with two catchers and two Wardancers are speedy enough, but I have very limited experience with them.

Tree or Apoth. Not a benchwarmer. 2x TRR is sufficient.

I played a fair bit of Welfs and I like having a third RR. I also play without tree, but I know some people really play well with him (Guard is nice on this team, but not vital).
Normally I play this setup.
2 WD 240
3 Catcher 270
1 Thrower 90
5 Lino 350
3 RR 150
Makes 1100. A solid squad. You can take leader, if you think you need it. If I were you I would start with kick. and then giving Strip Ball, if not playing against a sure hands heavy team. Against amas maybe more tackle. Sidestepping catchers or frenzy WD can be a nightmare.

Don't feel the need to post anymore than this quote.

The thing is, it doesn't matter. The whole point is that you don't have 3 fragile AV7 elves standing on the line begging to get pummeled. Instead you have 2 elves cowering next to a ST6 tree. Changes the whole complexion of the line. After that, if he takes root, who cares? Just dodge the other two elves away and make him a ST6 speed bump.

Depends on the tourney setup and how many skills you get, but I'd imagine you have better skill uses than that.

Yeah, 2wd and 2 catchers is a decent lineup, but at TV110, you can afford to do better.
Think of it this way. Have you played the tourney Skaven team with 4 gutter runners? We all have right, every tourney has at least one. Well, WE catchers are better than gutter runners, AND you get Wardancers too!!

Hmm,
at 110 I have always gone
Tree
2 dancer
3 catcher
4 Line
1 thrower
2 RR
However I am thinking of dropping the tree, but the idea of 11 men and no tree scares me a little. Plus 12 men, means you can play more aggressively and sacrifice a man if needs be to pressure the opponent.
I have been toying with 2 new rosters, which ties in with the appo question.
2 dancer
4 catchers
1 Thrower
5 Line
1 Thrower
1RR
10k spare,
(12 man roster, take leader 1st game to make 2 RR, 6 players with dodge re roll and the fastest roster in the game).
OR
2 Dancer
4 catchers
1 Thrower
4 Line
1RR
APO
(30k spare or upgrade a line to a 2nd thrower, one leader/ one accurate.
Now an appo would give a 75% chance of bringing the player back in the reserves box IIRC.
Having a reserve is a guarantee and a solid option, but losing your stripball dancer to a unskilled lino is big hit.
Plus it should be a high scoring game so the APO’d star players hopefully wont be sat in the reserves for too long.

This is my roster too, and I havent played it in a tournament yet were I didnt have success (danish championship 2 times nr 3, World cup Nottingham nr.2 team nr 3 individually, Eurobowl Italy top Scorer) A Tree IS nice, just because he soaks lots of damage and that he often can end up holding some basher players while your elves outnumber the rest.

This is not needed. They start with dodge so attackers need a clear pow or block (if they have) to put you down.
With woodelves and 3 RR's, you can score when you are not with 11.
You just have to be in front enough when your team starts to get slaugthered
My rosters
4 catchers
2 wardancers
5 linemen
3 RR
I am really glad with this setup.

I like having 3 rerolls. In a tourney with chosen skills I might be tempted to take the tree and the thrower and then take leader.
With random skill allocation I'd go for the roster posted by the magic tube. Like he says, you don't need an apo. It's easy keeping catchers out of tackle zones and dodge helps when getting blocked as well. Bashy teams need a few skills (tackle, block, mighty blow,...) before they can really dish out the pain.

I agree with Fischerking. Its a resurrection tourney, don't worry about the apo. Woodies can score with 3 guys on the pitch. Use the speed, take leader and kick early. Take the tree and let him do some damage and absorb a lot of hits. And run, run, run.

Whatever I´ll do (great advice here, guys), I will get two RR and leader, and then 3-4 catchers and or Tree.
I took Kick once with Woodies in a tourny and wasn´t impressed. It never helped that much although I can see it´s value and in the right situation it can be great. I like a skill like Block or Wrestle better because it´s useful "all of the time" (more than Kick at least, IMHO). Why do you value Kick so much?

Kick is VITAL!
the holy trinity, Kick, Leader, Strip Ball.
