Advice for skill on ST4 orc blitzer

I got a double roll (ones) on my ST4 orc blitzer (MA5, Guard 31 spps)

I was thinking of Diving Tackle or Side Step or maybe Jump-Up. Dodge is good but I play teams above 220TV and there is alot of Tackle.

The rest of the team

Blitzer 6 4 3 9 Block, Juggernaut, Frenzy
Blitzer 6 3 3 9 Block, Tackle, Mighty Blow, Guard, Side Step
Blitzer 6 3 3 9 Block, Guard, Mighty Blow, Tackle, Fend
Blitzer 5 4 3 9 Block, Guard, "Double Skill"

Black Orc 4 4 2 9 Block, Guard
Black Orc 3 4 2 9 Block, Mighty Blow, Frenzy, Stand Firm, Guard
Black Orc 4 4 2 9
Black Orc 4 4 2 9 Block

Thrower 5 3 3 8 Sure Hands, Pass
Thrower 6 3 3 8 Sure Hands, Pass, MA, Block, Dodge, Kick-Off Return

Line 5 3 3 9 Block, Diving Tackle, Side Step
Line 5 3 3 9 Block, Kick, Dirty Player, Diving Tackle
Line 5 3 3 9 Block, Fend, Tackle

I would go with Side Step - it goes well with Guard, and even better on a ST4 player with Guard. Agility teams will have a heck of a time getting past him, and bashing teams will have a hard time keeping him out of their cages.

I'd probably take dodge with the intention of getting stand firm next.

Either of those two: you can't go wrong there.

You could surprise the hell outta everyone and go with Catch (which you don't have)...!

Pity the git is so damned slow... however, Catch does help with hand-offs too....

Sidestep sounds good to me.

I think Side Step.

But only as he has Guard.

Otherwise it would be Diving Tackle, normally what I take with doubles on a Orc Blitzer.

WIth MA 5 a lot of the fun is gone! He's not going to be very mobile even in the best case, and may not be able to mark players in your backfield unless you have stellar positioning.

So I'd go with Diving Tackle, and the next skill Stand Firm (or preferably) Side Step on Doubles.

With the move reduction and your already noted lack of mobility I would shy away from a skill that places him down eating 60% of him movement.

Not to mention as you noted the difficulty marking players in the back field.

Seems like Sidestep to go with guard is the better option to me. In the scrum movement is much less needed. And sidestep will enhance his mobility, not decrease it as diving tackle would.

MA5 is a good reason not to take Diving Tackle. This guy is built like a defensive end or inside LB: tough enough to stand up to heavy blocks, faster than a BOB. Since he has Guard, I'd give him Side Step and put him on the line at the end vs. finesse teams: he and MummyBOB (MA3 guy) can frame the Block/Guard guy at nose. This makes your line very hard to shove around. If you're facing big guys with Grab, then drop him back to play inside linebacker, so the big guy has to blitz to use him.

What about Jump Up. With strength 4 this may help as a line breaker.

Thanks for all opinions

Side Step: Always good.

Diving Tackle: I have it on two other players so maybe not

Dodge: Too much tackle in the league.......

Jump-Up: Can be great, but I'm not planning to go down

Or you could always go for Leader. Sure, you have two Throwers already, but neither seems to be built for Leader.

Though I'd still personally go for Sidestep.

Diving Tackle isn't to mark people in the backfield. IT's to set up a player in the wide who stops you from blitzing through. Losing 3 MA isn't a big deal, actually, given that you generally get a turnover out of it! Then 2 more MA to move into position to use Guard.

But with two more diving tackle players, I'd say Side Step or Dodge.

Nerves of Steel would also be fun. Throw it to him and let him blitz himself home-free!

Another vote for Side Step. Pairs well with the MB/Guard/SS blocker you already have.
