Well after trying out DElfs (and Skaven at Spikey Cup 08 )

I've got a Norse Team on the waiting list to be painted - however I don't see much discussion about Rosters and Skill choices so I thought I would 'ask TBB!'

Firstly let me say I love the Snow Troll - However a lack of model right now excludes that option

Current Roster:
6 Linemen, 1 Thrower, 1 Runner, 2 Beserkers, 2 Ulfwereners, 4 ReRolls

Potential Drawbacks... 12 players when mostly AV7 = Ouch.

Alternative:
7 Linemen, 1 Thrower, 1 Runner, 2 Berserkers, 2 Ulfs, 3 RRs, 1 FF

More players - less ReRolls, however I would need 1 more linemen mini so you'll have to really convince me of this roster! :D

Potential Skill Choices as I see them...

Thrower: Sure Hands
Runner: Dodge, Catch, SideStep
Berserkers: Guard
Ulfs: Block

I would think 1. Ulf Block, 2. Ulf Block 3. Runner Dodge? 4. Bersk Guard 5 Beserker Guard 6. Thrower SH

But the point of these post is to find out what YOU think!?

Thanks, Grogmir.

Norse need 13 players at TV110.

And I would strongly advise on a Snow Troll.
It gives you a weapon against the teams that Norse otherwise struggle to cause CAS against (Dwarfs, Orcs etc).

I would also advised against taking a Thrower unless you're going to take Leader. Your MA& Runner is a better place for Sure Hands.

Without knowing tournie specifics, I think a good roster is:

140 ST
180 2 Runners
180 2 Blitzers
110 Ulf
70 Thrower
300 6 linos
120 2 rerolls

With a Leader Thrower and a MB ST a must. Wrestle si useful on the Ulf.

If you really were against a ST (and I'd advise you to reconsider), I'd go:

180 2 Runners
180 2 Blitzers
220 2 Ulf
70 Thrower
300 6 linos
30 k on Staff & FF

Take both Runners, at the expense of your Ulf(s) if needs be. Frenzy and no block (or wrestle) even with ST4 is dangerous (for you!), he will turn over at all the wrong times...

The Runner is a good piece, sure hands is great as a starting skill, their MA7 will prove very useful and their dauntless will improve your offensive blocking arguably by more than a ST 4 player without block.

Shame the Snow Troll is not an option for you as he is one of the better big guys and you could have used your frenzy players to push players toward him, thus freeing up the blitz for someone else.

THanks for the inital replies. Just to confirm...

I'm considering a ST, I got a piece but he was just to big... its not hate for him at all. Best Big Guy in the game for me.

Also the runner doesn't have SureHands, and it seems like a waste to give it to him when he's got the only AG access.

To be honest I don't like the runner at all, never have a problem with that extra movement and dauntless is just :?: What's the point when they have two ST4 and potential 1 ST5?
